I love that Adelaide are said to be after a first round pick or end of first round compensation pick for a spud like Maric.

Given what they gave up for Jacobs, you'd think they would understand that they have no hope of receiving a high pick.

Now I am not one to believe most rumours, but this one is interesting...because of the Source.

I have good friend who plays for the WAFL club these two blokes played for (not hard to guess) and he caught up with them when they were back in Perth.

Carlton were very keen to sign these guys up as Fremantle have enquired about both of them and are chasing Ellard Very Hard. Lyon wants to bring a more contested and accountable game to the Dockers and is looking for his In and under guy, and Ellard can come relatively cheap, will be back home and be assured of a 3 year contract with the Dockers.

Lyon is also interested in the pace of Armfield and sees him as a role similar to what he did to Brett Peake. This is more enquiry at this stage, depending on the Peake Situation.

Both guys have been up front with Carlton and are happy to stay (hence they signed so they will have to be traded) but Carlton have conceded that they cannot pay Ellard what the Dockers are Offering and will find a suitable trade if they can..

They have both just signed in the last month.
It would need to be a bloody good deal to us to trade either. Highly unlikely.

I would not be against trading Armfield for something that assists, if only because I think we have a few blokes who can fill that role. But trading Ellard seeems counterproductive given McLean has been a bust and Curnows form tailed away. Given most think we could do with another inside mid, why would we trade away one we have?

More importanly, what do Freo have that we would want?

You didn't nominate him, I heard it on Total access today. He says he's happy to make it on his own merit now. Interesting development considering you were so into him in July.
