Clinton Young is a restricted free agent who is yet to decide whether to remain at the Hawks, where he has been offered a new contract, albeit on what are believed to be slightly reduced terms. It is understood he toured the Westpac Centre with Collingwood officials last night.​

Was told today from a family member who is very good mates with an AFL Legend and big media person that Melbourne are very keen on Dawes and the deal should go through but we are also into Sam Reid and he will be apart of the Tippett to Sydney deal

Pies - Reid
Adelaide - Pick 13
Sydney - Tippett

There would be a swap of 2nd 3rd 4th round picks aswell but he thinks this will go through pretty soon

Dawes wont leave Melbourne and Reid or Tippett are no chance of going to MFC so its pretty much take what you can get

There is about a 1% chance of us picking up Sam Reid. Forget about it, not going to happen. Sydney would be mad to give him up 1 year into a 5 year deal, and Sydney are far from mad.

I've got a feeling Dawes will stay, we might pick up Young and end up with picks 18 and 19 after Wellingham gets to the Eagles.
That would be a great offseason. Out Wellingham. In Lynch, Young, pick 18.

Melbourne are considering putting Jordan Gysberts on the trade table, and already he’s attracted quite a bit of interest.

Although it’s just “rumour” at this stage, here are the possibilities that have been mentioned.

Gysberts to Essendon – which could be part of a deal to get Gumbleton to the Dees.
Gysberts to Collingwood – which would be part of a deal to get Dawes to the Dees

And there has also been reports of Gysberts to Geelong in return for a second or third pick.

Remember folks, it’s just rumour at this stage, but it’s a good discussion point.

He would be a Good Get and Could easily be part of the Dawes Trade.

Lynch and Young are freebies thanks to free agency, nothing to do with Dawes and Wellingham

will dawes and wellingham be playing at collingwood next year? probably not. i know its not a direct swap for lynch and young but effectively we are gaining those 2 and losing the others

Similar scenario has legs on our board although more complex.

Still ends up with Reid at Pies but its tied to losing both Dawes and wellingham. Anyway to complicated to write it all down. If you interested its on page 185 of the tippets gone thread.

Certainly explains why swans want tippett so badly.

ben reid couldnt kick too when he first started, maybe the reids kicking improves with age. cloke kicked 59 this year, if we can snare reid he will be good for 30-40 goals and also allow travis more 1 on 1 contests because reid is such a threat in the air.
we should be pushing this trade with everything. there is no way sydney can satisfy adelaide withour a third party and we can be a major player here with wellingham and dawes picks.

If you were Reid and you were a year into a 5 year contract would you be happy to be shipped to Melbourne or would you go hey if i can not get to a good club like Collingwood i might aswell stay with the Premiers of 2012

I don't put much stock in this rumour to be honest, but just on the last point, Reid is contracted and doesn't want to go to Melbourne and wouldn't be obliged too.
