Coach Rutten sacked - no, really this time. Could the Dodo face extinction too? 🙏🙏

I think a consideration Clarkson had to make was that if he took the Essendon job was that it would've meant that Rutten would've had to be knifed. He's too good of a human being to do that. On the other hand, the board would sell off their wives for a premiership.

Essendon should've cut Rutten and had a clean slate for the negotiations, epic amateur hour. Their professionalism is worse than government bodies smh.

If Clarko is of such high moral standing why did he engage Essendon at all?

Maybe North can host one in Hobart v hawthorn. Two traditional rivals, both long term leaches off the Tasmanian government, playing for the Clarko Cup.

Collingwood supporters have been leeching off the Aussie Tax Payer with Dole payments for decades, so I am not sure you are in any position to judge others mate.

Why would Clarko ruin his extraordinary coaching cv, to join a club where most of their good players want out and don’t want to be there.

Essendon is a way more attractive proposition for Clarko, Essendon’s squad is tailored made for Clarko to have an immediate impact. I’m saying it with full chest, if he comes in we’re getting top 4 next season comfortably.

North Melbourne can have Clarko after we’ve won four flags in a row and they’ve relocated to tassie, where they can eulogise over drew petries celebration as their only meaningful accomplishment in their organisation.

Oh and we’ll take Zurhaar too thanks, and McKay as a free agent next year as well. Forgot to add, enjoy Ken Hinkley as coach too, and make sure you stock up on as many wooden spoons before you relocate to your natural state of origin.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 this is a Carlton fan trolling right? Has to be. The list is bottom 2.

Is there any logical reason why Essendon changed Presidents this week?

Maybe I’m missing something but in the middle of a storm, why now?
Just listening to 3AW and Matt Lloyd ….

Apparently Barham was fed up with inaction and frustrated with the little change at Essendon.

He intended to resign as a board member on Monday.

Several other board members deeply valued his service and urged him not to leave

Brasher reading the room, equally was also prepared to step aside for Barham.

That was my jist of why Lloyd and Robbo were implying

what concerns me is how much of this Hird via Robbo.

He was bang on about Clarkson and North.

EFC fans right now;

Robbo is 100% Hird's media mouthpiece. Robbo does as he's told so he can be "mates" with the golden one.

It's at the point where I think Robbo barracks more for Hird than Essendon.

It gets funnier and funnier.

By the way not sure if you meant to spell his name wrong but Barnham is appropriate…. The place is a circus.

Sometimes it's tempting to think Slobbo is a secret clandestine Carlton or Collingwood fan, who just wants to see Essendon burn 🔥

That bloke they got in is a ****ing goose. That presser was like an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Respectfully, you've obviously never been head-hunted for a job. Rule 101 is, never reject the opportunity to at least learn what's on offer, irrespective of your actual interest in the company or role...

This is not a regular job and the process is very very public. Plus there’s a soft cap so it’s very unlikely money was a motivating factor, given hell be on megabuck regardless.

If has made noises about how poorly Essendon has managed Rutten and the process and club in general then maybe he shouldn’t have feigned interest in the first place.

Fair points, but who called who?
As you allude to, this is/was really about EFC's apparent deplorable handling of their current coach's tenure which included a 11th hour desperate bid to lure Clarkson, as opposed to Clarkson seriously entertaining this as an option...
