Did nothing about it. Why would we? We have a coach.
Then they waited a few months, sacked the president cos he was in the way, and decided to chase Clarkson after he was practically already signed at another club.
But yeah, we have a coach... oh yeah says Dave, guess I shoulda spoken to him.
It's like some D-grade comedy movie.
At the risk of repeating myself, Clarkson to Essendon was always predominately media fairytales.
And knowing Truck (not well), despite him being a top bloke, I get the feeling if he is, as predicted, given the tap on the shoulder next week, he won't (and shouldn't) go quietly...
EDIT - by not going quietly, although unlikely given his persona, I'd to hear this during Trucks final presser:

He said he gave it some thought out of "respect" to Essendon people he knows. Obviously not Rutten though. If he respected him he would have said no straight away.
Essendon must have had some indication from the first phone call to Clarksons manager. Otherwise they wouldn't have proceeded with the sackings etc.

When I was sent the video of the presser, I thought someone had just put up a parody. Essendon need to stop relying on thinking being a big club means anything. It almost needs a AFL intervention.

I imagine it's quite liberating being in Truck's position, knowing he's not wanted and it's just a matter of waiting to get told his payout. I'd be taking all my sick leave and doing the most half-arsed job possible if I was him, and I'd burn the place on the way out too.
