Weren’t the rules changed to make the submission deadline WA time and you’re still an incompetent member of an LG??
Maybe you should do your research, read the squad list, BAT isn't a member of our LG.

Hello everyone! It's me, your friendly neighbourhood serial_thrilla with a new exciting development in the world of S37 Sweet FA rule breaches!

Those of you who are fans of my work may remember DASHGATE from a couple of seasons ago, where many of you learnt of the difference between en-dashes and em-dashes, along with the terrible impact the misuse of them could have upon the league. After the appropriate penalties were issued, there was a SHAKE UP of the teamsheet formatting rules to prevent confusion reigning once more, and we were introduced to SLASHES between player names. Luckily there was no need to clarify the difference between forward-slashes and back-slashes: that would have been silly.

Today, we look at the superfluous use of SPACES between position lines in team sheet submissions. I dub this scandal SPACEGATE, and I look forward to ridding this unnecessary scourge from the league.

Firstly, there is no need for spaces between positional lines in team sheets. It looks terrible, it makes it difficult to read on mobile devices, and most importantly it hinders efficiencies during the sim-checking process between team sheet deadlines and the posting of the sim output on Sundays. The hard working people behind the scenes have been complaining about it all season (see excerpt below).

1709949377798.png

It is also a clear breach of the rules (please focus on the wording of "only acceptable format"):

SEC [5]. TEAM SUBMISSION
5A) Submission Rules

The deadline for team sheet submission is the Thursday 11:59 PM Western Australia Time before a match unless stated otherwise by the Administrator

Team sheets must be displayed in a logical format that is comprehensible by the game simmers. Each positional line {e.g. B, HB, C, HF, F, FOLL, INT} must be defined clearly and in case of positional changes the specific positions must be communicated in the listed changes. The only acceptable format is:

B: BP / FB / BP
HB: HBF / CHB / HBF
C: W / C / W
HF: HFF / CHF / HFF
F: FP / FF / FP
FOLL: RU / RR / RO
INT: INT / INT

Notice there are no spaces between positional lines? This is very clear.

There is some leeway allowed with teamsheet formatting; with font type, bolding, font colour, and alignment all regularly seen as a way for teamsheet submitters to express their creativity. Some of these are bordering on unsightly, and an offence to the senses - but none of them affect the copy and pasting of the teamsheets into the sim-checker spreadsheet in the way that these superfluous spaces do.

This week we have three teams committing this clear breach of the rules: the Old Boys, Bombers and Warriors. There is no dispute that this is a breach of Rule 5A (see above), and is worthy of a 6B Minor Offence charge (see below). Elton Johns Wig please cast judgement and put an end to this blight on the league.

3. 2 point deduction, plus a 2-game suspension for the captain (if there are multiple captains at a club, the captain of the offending club will be randomly selected for suspension)

Most certainly not

I want to remove the unsightly teamsheet spaces from the league! Spaces that hinder the simming process.

I sure hope serial doesn't look up. A lot of space up there. Wouldn't want him to have an existential crisis.

I am not going to give teams an official strike.

However, as you well know serial_thrilla we have been discussing the annoyance of said spaces in the simming PM. The extra steps removing the spaces, just for those teams that want to be different, spell please.

As a consequence, from next week onwards, no spaces will be accepted, and it will indeed be a minor offence.

As will Foll instead of FOLL AnUltimateRessie

Team sheets must be displayed in a logical format that is comprehensible by the game simmers. Each positional line {e.g. B, HB, C, HF, F, FOLL, INT} must be defined clearly and in case of positional changes the specific positions must be communicated in the listed changes.

HB: HBF / CHB / HBF
C: W / C / W
HF: HFF / CHF / HFF
F: FP / FF / FP
FOLL: RU / RR / RO
INT: INT / INT

CHANGES:

All positional changes from the previous round MUST be noted correctly in the Team Sheet Submission, including swapping from LHS positions to RHS positions.

The only acceptable format (eg) is:

OUT > INT
BP > OUT
OUT > BP
INT > OUT

It really should be a cut paste job.

There has also been a notification in committee. So surely we all see this. There is, dare I say it.....ample time.

Cheers
