Which one would you rather in our side ? Which one is best fit to our side ?

Take that into account and give your opinion on the two of them.

On form it's probably easier to say Buckley, I think he has a lot of upside the more I see him play. He was afforded a good pre-season which GSack wasn't sadly.

I think Buckley's form has been really good. the guy is really starting to find his feet within the club. Goldsack has been good, but just lacking a bit at the moment for me.

Sack for mine.

That little bit bigger so is more versatile, definitely need him in this week v WCE given their tall forwards.

hard to pick, depends on the team we are playing, if only we could simply combine them :(

On form, exactly. Overall im talking about. I would prefer Goldy, simply because he is more versatile in my eyes. Love the fact we have the depth in that department though.

You have to remember he had glandular fever over the pre-season and was in hospital and lost something like 10+ kilos.

Agreed, if we are exposed with a small backline, it could prove costly. Definitely not worth going into this game trying to play smalls on talls, we will get smashed in that aspect.

Can I say neither?

Seriously, to me, neither are in our best 22, as I could easily see them going out this week even if BJ and Tooves are back.

But if I had to choose, at the moment I'd choose Buckley, he has the greater offensive ability, and defensively there's not a lot between them IMO.

Both will play plenty of games though, just because of the attrition rate this season.

That's true, I had forgotten about that. But still Buckley for me. Maybe over all Goldsack will prove the better man, but right now it's gotta be Bucks!

It depends on a fair few things, none more so than the availability of Johnson and Toovey. If they are both fit, then neither of the options. If just Toovey is fit, then I'd prefer to keep Buckley. If Johnson is fit, probably Goldy.

Buckley has only played 26 games in his career, so he is still very much inexperienced, even though he is older than Pendles, Thomas and others. I think he's been impressive this year and will only get better with the more games he plays. I think Buckss has more upside than Goldy. They are about the same height/weight, aren't they?

Goldy is about 3cms taller, but about 5kgs lighter according to the CFC website.

This one.

Bucks for me, purely and simply because he is capable (and is doing quite well so far) of breaking lines and kicking over the top of zones.

Although I much prefer The Sack's intensity/Pressure.

Goldy is one of my favourite players - I think he is one of the best tacklers we have had at the club in some years... so I'll go him just out of bias - even though Buckley is playing much better footy. I think both have genuine chances at holding down spots in our best 22.

Money Bags for me, he is more versatile, his bad is not as bad as Buckleys' and his disposal is more reliable. I have been impressed with what Buckley has done this year but I still worry like hell each time he is about to dispose of the ball.

A combination of these. I do think either are in our best 22 at full strength at the moment. On balance you'd think that Johnson and Toovs will force out Goldsack and Bucks.

They are different players suited to different roles. Goldsack is better suited to a defensive role, Buckley is more suited to a more offensive role.

That said Buckley is playing the better football and probably shows the more upside IMO.

Goldsack.

When Goldsack at his best he is a star. Can beat his direct opposition. Tackling is a sensational asset to his game and is probably a near top 5 tackler at the club. Kicking has the same penetration that you see with Buckley. Less bad decision maker.

Doesn't get as much of it as Buckley. But with the number of mistakes Buckley makes. I'd rather Buckley not have the ball, makes me feel uneasy every time he gets it.

Goldsack is a clear top 25 guy and is probably best 22 at the club even with a full and healthy list in my view. Don't have Buckley inside my top 30, even with his current improving form. But Mick would clearly disagree about the latter and has confidence in his ability which I respect.

Sack for sure which is no slur on Buckley. He has improved his game markedly since last season.

I would think the Sack is quite a bit better at the contested ball which makes him more important defensively, but Buckley has greater pace and elite kicking so adds an attacking dimension to the side.
If Buckley continues to improve his contested ability then I would change my vote, but the Sack has a lot of improvement left also I think.

Different roles, Buckley very much an outside player at present and has improved greatly this year.

Exactly how I think & voted. Although Goldsack would slightly be the better defender.

I'd say Goldsack has Buckley, and indeed almost everyone in our team, well covered for pace.
