Another amazing thing about Mitchell is how he has been able to transform his game (particularly despite his physical limitations).

He started out a pure inside, clearance winning contested player (famous for his handballing). Perhaps the best clearance specialist in the game (will retire #1 in clearances since the stat was kept)

then became more of an outside distributor setting up play and famous for his dual sided kicking.

This is further evident by the fact that he is top 5 all time for BOTH Contested AND Uncontested possessions (the only player to be so).

Can be a bit of a petulant/floggish character on the field, but from what ive seen in interviews and heard what his like his person, he seems like he is actually a very nice genuine bloke. Great player to watch as well, hopefully will win a brownlow (Not this years brownlow!) by the end of the year.

Pretty sure he won a Liston by playing half the games for the year but polling maximums in 11 out of 12 games and 2 votes in the other (something similar).

From memory he played 11 games and got 10 x 3 votes and 1 x 1 vote ending up with 31 votes.

Massively underrated
People will say Danger is a far better player but I'd argue Mitchells 35 disposals are more valuable than Dangers
Danger can only kick on one side and half of them are long kicks down the line
Mitchell creates on both sides of his body and doesn't have rushed touches
He is a superstar

Great player. Done a few stupid things on the field, but if you take those away there is no denying he will go down as one of the greats. Loved his jab action towards the bombers, considering they got found guilty, he should rescind his apology, get his fine refunded and then donate it to a charity (if he copped a fine - I can't remember)

I don't like how the media seem to rate Hodge ahead of him when its clear that Mitchell has been the better player for longer. He is one of the best Hawthorn players in history and one of the best mids in history.
