FYI, the PM's recent holiday trip was actually his third re-schedule, thanks mainly to that Modi clown in India who kept changing his dates for this Raisina Dialgoue get together, which was originally scheduled for early March 2020.
If I was the PM, when Modi called in September with his latest change, I would of told him to GAGF!

If you think there are no security protocols related to the PM's intended travel and/or locations, that's fine. I think some of them are ridiculous too. Please note in most other countries this is commonly known as protecting the head of state and considered a priority for national interests - although it's obvious that some on this thread would prefer our PM had no protection...

Anyhow, I do understand my attempt to add some sort of balance to this discussion does not support the theme of the thread, therefore I'm not welcome on the PM bashing train.

Moreover, I've got no issue for those who choose to support the media chucking a hissy fit like a petulant child because the PMO and others were protecting the PM's security/privacy, which really gave the media no choice but to fabricate and misdirect for the sake of a story/narrative.
I do however encourage some of you to occasionally look past the headlines.

Don't go, you've done really well explaining why our poor suffering PM really is blameless in all of this, and why everyone should have no problem with him secretly sunning himself on a Hawaiian beach.

Unfortunately it's politics, and people don't care what his excuses are. Especially when he's telling us the volunteer fireys want to be there, and don't need any help.

While the country is burning and people are dying, this PM's priority is bringing in a bill that enshrines the right of religious people to let others know their trials are god's will and punishment, and they are going to hell.

I am curious as to where the media have fabricated anything? Will you return to answer that?

He has a young family, he is entitled to take a short 4 day family break. His wife and young kids also deserve some time with their dad and husband in privacy. There are capable people on the ground co-coordinating fire fighting efforts. The hysteria of people who think that everything will fall apart if "the leader" is not there to hold our hands is absurd and disingenuous. I have some firsthand experience with the Pentecostal chruch, and believe they're nothing short of complete fruitcakes, but I can seperate it from his politics. It's just that his politics seem to be disturbingly aligned with his batshit insane beliefs.

Its december and the fire danger is gonna rear its head until march-april. Possible other big issues that could happen in the next couple of months: Murray Darling fish kill, National Energy Market shi*s itself after days/weeks of intense demand, water shortages, cylcone season, and thats just the environmental items. Highly likely the 'independent' reserve bank decides to cut rates twice more but does nothing to stimulate the economy forcing scomo to push forward further tax cuts which again dont stimulate the economy, noting this also cuts government revenue and it could be a bloody stormy ship. Also who knows whats going on with the price of iron ore and China's economy.

The last two rate cuts have done nothing so why do it again?

The government needs to bring forward more infrastructure projects and increase the Newstart allowance.

Tax cuts to anyone but the lowest earners are going to go straight to debt relief.
