Optics shmoptics. It's all just another reason for leftists to attack him and the Lib Govt.

But since you feel so passionately about "optics" you might want to ask, Where the Hell is Annastacia?

she should come home too.

But has she lied about being on holidays?

He did do it weeks ago and months ago, is there a certain number of times he must visit to keep people happy?
As far as I can make out he made the odd visit at the onset but as the crisis worsened his absence has been more conspicuous.

Straw man arguments such as: he’s entitled to a holiday, he can’t put the fires out himself, how many times should he visit, hysterical leftist haters gonna hate and so on don’t wash.

More than a thousand homes have been lost, people have been killed, Sydney has been choked in smoke for weeks and as the leader of the country he has been conspicuously silent and/or absent for weeks.

Plenty of people cheerleading on both sides will sling mud at one another but I’d wager that most unaligned people would take a dim view of his performance on this issue. It’s hard to imagine any of his predecessors as PM handling this situation worse.

I do not live in Queensland but Palaczuk and Trad’s behaviour and lack of leadership in going MIA for at least a week is also appalling.

As I've been saying, many leftists don't give a crap about the fires. They're using them as a political point scoring tool because ScoMo was on holiday. Scum.
Bullshit. **** off you pillock.

His last visit was a mere 2 weeks ago.

The state premiers usually make a visit when a fire breaks out the next day and then maybe if they’ve got nothing else to do and they keep burning you’ll see them again.

I really don’t understand this need to be constantly out there, it actually is distracting. The story about firefighters not being fed because they were waiting for Albo, surely we should let them get on with their jobs?

I’ve been at fires, had visits from the government, although not the premier, he must have been on holidays whilst his state was burning...but it’s actually a pain. Sure come out here and there, it’s great for them when it first happens to pretend they care. But you don’t need them to keep coming every week

& that'd do what in terms of the economy?

I'm not against limiting its use but it needs to be a considered decision, not ideological IMHO.
I thought that keeping negative gearing for new builds would generate work for trades etc and drop it for existing properties to keep the prices reasonable was a good idea. The libs poo pooed the idea and told everyone their rents would go up.

Maybe if he didn't run off on holiday the fires would be smaller

They more prayers the better I guess. ;)

As a media 'marketing' man he should have known that sneaking off & his staff & associates being illusive about it all, was silly. Stupid in fact.

Surely he knows as well as anyone that 'image' is all in politics. Geez he just won an election based on that. He had no policies.

He needs to sack his advisors. Blame someone else, that's what you do. Just throw someone else under the bus, like Trumpy does!! :)

Yes, you have this bizarre idea that once someone votes for a politician, that chapter is closed and the politician can do whatever the phuc they want and is under no obligation to fulfill any of their pre-election promises (which, admittedly, were pretty meagre in Morrison’s case), until they’re next held to account in three years’ time.

Quite bizarre.

Ask around and you’ll find your viewpoint is not widely held at all.

You are clearly a bit odd.
Not at all. Now you are making bizarre assumptions about what my views are which are wrong and also coming up with bizarre logic as to why what Morrison has done in his first 6 months is somehow relevant or in need of justification as to the reason you voted for him in May. What Morrison has done in his first 6 months has no relevance or connection to the fact as to why I voted for him in May. This is decided on what were given in the election lead up. Also I never stated that once someone is voted for that chapter is closed and they don't have to fulfil their promises nor do I hold such a view. What they do after the election still has no relevance or connection to why I voted for them at the relevant polling day which is when it is relevant and an issue. I only have to justify why I am going to vote for candidate s for example on the next polling day when how I vote is relevant once again.

Actually most people I speak to (not the dope smoking hippies who take their kid to climate protests to indoctrinate them) agree that you can and need to only justify who you voted for and why at the time of the election and that is the only time it is relevant. If they don't like what they have done then they vote another way at the next poll. A few have stated that they won't vote for scott next time necessarily but were satisfied with the decision they made to vote for him at election.

Funny you still haven't been able to explain why what Morrison has done in his first six months after the election is in some weird way relevant to why I voted for him in May. You are clearly a bit odd.

I wouldn't know, why are you even asking? Did the PM lie about being on holidays?
Yes he did, unless his office went rogue and lied about it without his instruction

Bullshit. fu** off you pillock.
Many don't. People on twitter and facebook go straight to potting the government for their supposed inaction on climate change and post about why this is the cause of the fires yet you never see them show empathy or support for the victims. To me that is a good indication of where they are at

The question got answered. The fact was that the poster who asked it disliked the answer.

Nice rant floor pie,. There is a clear difference between stating my own personal views on something and my personal reasons for my thinking and being able to state why the people referred to acted the way they did with conviction like how I was being asked to.

Nice strawman

You never answered my question days ago. Still waiting.

Call yourself a quiet Australian, screams leftie leftie leftie everywhere

No wonder why conservative governments don't bolster mental health assistance, they benefit from the crazies
They are not a big fan of education either, dumb ****ers are easier to stooge

Perhaps I worded my post that you quoted poorly. It isn’t just about visiting fireys - as you have pointed out in the situation with Albo that can be a hindrance. However, meeting with community members affected (those who have lost their homes), liaising with State Governments, Emergency Services command and generally keeping people informed of the unfolding situation are ways in which leaders generally operate during such events.

It’s not about Morrison, it’s about the way in which he has been seen to respond. The general perception is that he has been seen as sluggish and aloof.

This thread is hilarious, has everything. Will go down as an all time great I reckon.

He has a young family, he is entitled to take a short 4 day family break. His wife and young kids also deserve some time with their dad and husband in privacy. There are capable people on the ground co-coordinating fire fighting efforts. The hysteria of people who think that everything will fall apart if "the leader" is not there to hold our hands is absurd and disingenuous. Just using this as an opportunity to sink the boot into your political foes and to promote your own extremist CC agenda.

You actually don’t get it, do you?

Jesus, do you belong to the same church as SmoCo?

It was incredibly bad judgement and made worse by his failure to advise as our PM what he was doing. Sneaking out of the country. Yes, it was sneaking out!

If you don’t understand that then you have accepted low standards of our political leaders.
