these were policies on when life returns to normal. Not policies about how to accelerate the vaccine supply. We were not expecting anything on that from the national cabinet meeting. so your post Seems a bit whataboutistic.

Some new policies to remove vaccine hesitancy would of been good coming out of the cabinet. That was a downside. But the left has done themselves no favour in recent days by misinterpreting morrisons announcememt on AstraZeneca availability for under 60s. They have sounded more like anti vaxers.

You can't keep playing with people's lives by locking down all of the time. They've had basically a year and a half to come up with a plan and they're still scared about a mythical fleeting beast that the Australian government labels as a mere respiratory virus. They'd rather ruin people's lives in other ways (depression/suicide, financial strife/business closures, domestic violence etc etc etc) instead.

You can't keep playing with people's lives by locking down all of the time. They've had basically a year and a half to come up with a plan and they're still scared about a mythical fleeting beast that the Australian government labels as a mere respiratory virus. Agree with that because this has become long winded and its like the people in charge know what needs to be done but there is no urgency for them to get on with doing it and some of the restrictions have made no sense.

You're asking me to accept that Morrison organised the worst vaccine rollout in the developed world. I don't. Nor do I accept that he's blameless. I don't know.

But my question is why are we bitching about it?

Whether it's singularly the worst or in the bottom 2/3 is kind of irrelevant. People are probably 'bitching about it' because his incompetence is the reason that our economy has lost billions with multiple lockdowns needlessly happening as a consequence of the chaotic vaccine rollout. 2 weeks of NSW's lockdown alone will cost us 2 billion. People probably also want to see families overseas etc etc.

If Scomo had come out and said, you know what guys. I know it's hard but we won't be vaccinating our population until the people who need it most have had it and we'll be donating x number of doses to those people then yeah you could maybe support that. Obviously he'd get annihilated politically so he'd never do that but it would be a fairly idealistic/courageous/crazy thing to do so you could have your own opinions about that. However, instead of that, he told us we were 'front of the queue' repeatedly for months whenever he was questioned as it has become clearer and clearer how much of a disorganised cluster**** the rollout has been.

How do you have DOUBLE the surplus and still get JobKeeper?

Jobkeeper 1.0 you qualified based on PROJECTED turnover. (March to September 2020) + Once eligible, eligible for the WHOLE 6 months March to September.
Jobkeeper 2.0 qualification was based on ACTUAL turnover (From October 2020) + only eligible for period of decline in turnover.


The test Jobkeeper 1.0:
Compare projected turnover...
Pick any month March to September 2020 and compare to same month of 2019 or
Pick any quarter June or September 2020 and compare to same quarter of 2019

(It was months or quarters because some businesses report monthly and some report quarterly for GST)

Your logic is kind of like asking why people bitch about paying tax when really there are people out there who they should be donating a much higher proportion of their money to given the poverty in places like India and Africa. Why do conservatives bitch about other countries stealing manufacturing jobs? Those other countries need them more than us anyway!

I think you’ll find this will be more widespread than you’d like to think. I work close to clubs and venues like this and I have heard this occurring a lot…

There is this particular club which is fairly small (tiny compared to the above) who posted a $1m profit of which half was JobKeeper.

It’s a joke. Ridiculous amounts of waste and no oversight. These clubs were making a killing with JobKeeper having money pumped into their pokies and then they managed to get further “value” out of JobKeeper as well…
