Have only seen a small portion of Fyfe play. He does look like a stellar player but I think a lot of people have forgotten how good Scully is because of his reduced game time this year and the fact that he was always playing injured.

I'll take the status quo....oh wait :o

We (freo) got one there, and about time considering the players could of picked up but always got the dud :)

In 2 years i reckon scully will be better.

Why's that?

From what I've seen of the 2 of them (handful of games the last 2 years) they both will become top players. Scully has a very good work rate for a young player and Fyfe just oozes class. I chose Fyfe because he is one of few opposition players that I enjoy watching.

I doubt it, Fyfe still has heaps of upside left to his game especially once he has a bigger frame and can impose himself on more contests both at ground level and in the air, scary considering he's already averaging 26 possessions

Scully (not loyal-faulty knee-over rated)

melbourne came out way better on that loss. Trengove is better them him as well. I think its a joke how he got offered that much

Fyfe.

Scully is rated only because of GWS/No.1 pick status.

Wrong, Scully is a excellent young footballer, gets plenty of it, kicking can be astray but huge potential. line breaking midfielders are hard to get, 1 of Scully's quality is a awesome get.

I'll take Fyfe, he's an exceptional talent.

Don't be fooled into thinking I'm bitter about the GWS move, Scully will indeed be an exceptional player.

Fyfe just has a lot more strings to his bow, has about as much development left as Scully (in terms of size) and is already stringing together some really impressive performances.

Now? Fyfe
Few Years time? Who knows. It chops and changes for the first few years between each group of draftees

Spot on, good post.

The first few years after a draft players take varying times to develop and some come on quicker than others. As with every draft it takes 3-5 years to get a solid picture as to who the star players will be.

For example last year I would have said Martin was the pick of the draft, this year however Fyfe has had a better year than him.

Fyfe at the moment is the best from that draft, but in a few years it'l be between Fyfe, Martin, Scully and Trengove for the pick of the draft.
