I agree with all of that...except the pineapple bit. There are some pizzas where pineapple is okay.

It works when you need something to contrast a pizza with a lot of heavy ingredients.

I reckon that's because we tend to 'over fill' a pizza. Personally, I rarely put more than 4, at most 5 ingredients on my pizzas.
