Looking good and going into this years Granny in arguably their best form for the season is -

Lance Franklin ... say no more !
Kurt Tippet ... looking ominous as a stay at home FF.
Adam Goodes ... got a spring in his step, playing his best games for the year the past couple.
Mike Pyke ... looking especially good lately.
Luke Parker ... has he played a bad one this year ?
Lewis Jetta ... has come to the fore of late.
Hanners ... getting better with game time.
Benny McGlynn ... boy his hunger grows by the game.

Who wants to add to the list ?

jack is clearly in best form he has been in.

the forward set up is its best so far, but north are not a scratch on hawthorn

Agree, the MCG and the big stage should maketh or breaketh the man. He needs to throw his big body into contests and rattle the bones of a few. He can marshall the troops well and fill the hole, he just can't chase, turn or run around much these days. He'll be okay !

Yeah come to think of it Ted is probably the only player not in season best form.

We're very settled at the moment. I think the form of Parker can't be understated either. It just takes so much pressure off Kennedy and makes us that much harder to stop.

Geez i prefer your last avatar

His current one is almost cardable.

But yes, Ted did look shaky at times on Friday, but he's full of heart, you know he'll dig deep.

Thankfully Ted only has to look after Roughead this time around which isn't all that easier than Franklin, it has to be said. Hopefully Grundy gives him a decent chop out. But if we keep Roughead quiet, i think we win.

I actually thought Ted took a couple of good marks in the Prelim.
Teddy was still able to take Petrie in the contest, he just might be a step or two slower than last year and gets done on the lead. I'd back him to take some good intercept marks if we can pressure the Hawf mids.

ted like any defender (but especially given he gives away size most weeks) needs his midfield to do their job and limit supply, especially limit repeat easy entries

Ted just needs to hold and scrag as much as lake and gibson will
Not worried about Ted in the air against Roughy as they are same height etc and he is not a big contested mark player , plus we always have Rohan , Mal come across and help out anyway.

Its Roughy getting him on the lead and when the ball hits the ground that Roughy will turn him inside out.

As you said the midfield needs to stop the ball going in with ease ( clearances are a real worry against the ranked 1 team ), harder said than done against the Hawks and there kicking abilities.

In r18 he had 8 scoring shots and missed some sitters , cant allow that and on the weekend he had only 6 possies for 4 goals at one stage.

round 18 it felt like defence would spoil and clear but wouldnt clear far, went wide or short, or back tracked and hawthorn set up a wall and got repeat inside 50s going

then they got in top in clearance

i dont have time inside 50 to support that, its just my memory

Our team has never looked more primed that this year. Thread should be called 'entire list times preparation perfectly'

People say that North looked like they had spent their petrol tickets but I think thats rubbish. They would have been as pumped as for any game during the season and are a good team and yet you made them look second rate.

I think you might be going into a Grand Final with the best form of any GF contender and if it wasnt played against Hawthorn then the game would be over by half time.

Ted needs assistance from whoever Mitchell's opponent is. Pressure the Mitchell disposal as much as possible especially when he is near the top of the 50 where he gets those little shit kicks away to Roughead on the lead that are lucky to travel 7 or 8 meters. Stevic & Nicholls wont help by allowing the mark so it is up to us to keep Mitchell off balance as much as possible with body pressure and the spare back to guard space and try cut off as many entries that go to Roughead as possible.
