Semis/prelims - who plays which day

Who plays the Friday semi?

Loser of Crows/Giants (8 day break) v winner of Power/Eagles (6 day break). This would mean winner of Crows/Giants gets the Saturday prelim.

Or

Loser of Cats/Tigers (7 day break) v winner of Swans/Bombers (6 day break). This would mean winner of Cats/Tigers gets the Saturday prelim.

If Crows win they will get Friday night.

If GWS win who knows? May do what happened last year and say the 2v3 winner has the highest ranking so gets Saturday. (Especially if GWS vs Swans falls) would enable 2 night games.

Semis will be loser Cats v Tigers vs Winner Swans v Dons (Friday)
loser Crows Giants vs Winner Power v Eagles (Saturday) but if GWS win they may flip days to match up with Prelims.

I forgot about GWS, AFL don't want them hosting on Friday night, so if they beat Adelaide, they will get the Saturday twilight prelim, ... MCG prelim on Friday with Adel/PA/WC coming off a 6 day break

Good point, an all interstate final can't be on a Friday night. That's why a possible Showdown would rightfully be played Friday night. Oh, wait, interstate from where exactly?

Agree that they play the Giants prelim on Saturday if they win next week.

TV ratings on a Friday are much better on a Saturday night right? Unless they opt for the twilight prelim on the Saturday.

Adelaide deserve Friday but wouldn't put anything past the AFL
