You nailed it perfectly i know a lot there as well and there arrogance about coming into the league saying that would only be in Div 2 a year and saying they are a div1 side they always looked down on the league I do love asking them how do they find playing in Div 1 and not sure if Spana would go back there after him and bull offered to coach them several years ago and they told them no thanks and it’s was because certain families there had a blew with them several years agoDoves giving the coaching job to stapleton is what really got them in proper shit, a lot of people around the club are pissed at how much say 1-2 families have in the club, they have pretty much always been just as good as Narre cranny Berwick beacybut now those 4 clubs would beat them by 25+ goals, a rubbish 2nd division club is what they are now, when a local club gets a new coach they have to sign someone from outside the club cause then it brings in new players and sponsorship just like Hampton park have done this year! I got a lot of mates at the doves but heck I’d love to see them in Div 3 next year!
Here’s a good tip from me! Spanna leaves Devon meadows end of this year and coaches the doves next year!

Doveton were never as good as those teams. They should be in Div 1 easily but they have turned to shit, and ya right they always looked down on the southern especially doveton eagles, they said no to spanna and bully cause thought they were too young but I think span will 100% go back there to try be a premiership coach spent his who life growing up there, was a handy footballer for them aswell!

They were blown away early by Frankston, run off their feet, barely fired a shot. Typically they dragged some shit supporters along with them.

List can go on and on , but I think the problem with Doveton is they live in the past far too much and drink their own bathwater. Time for a reset and a clean out start from scratch, hopefully for their sake the re-set isn’t division 3
They were not to young this was only a couple of years ago that they were knocked back and bull had already coached them to a premiership before that I’d be very surprised if Spana went back from the conversation iv had with him and his family and his sister runs the netball at Hampton park and does a great job none of there family are involved at Doveton anymore and he was a bit more than handy footballer I’d say
Come on m8 you need to let this go if we go down that path of these sides not being in snfl there would only be 2 divisions and the league would be complete rubbish again getting these sides in from south east has made it stronger but maybe call it the south east football league instead
Speaking of clubs not being in the SFNL or in Oakleigh Districts case, not wanting to be in the SFNL, I wonder how that decision is working out for them now?
Started in effectively EFNL's Division 3 & were quickly demoted to their 4th division. Made a finals appearance last season but they are getting convincingly beaten by that division's top 4 team this year. Now we know they wanted to leave to start a junior pathway & the jury is still out on whether the decision to leave was great foresight, but they are 10 years away from seeing those players come to fruition.
Maybe time to swallow their pride & re enter the SFNL maybe in Div 3, if the league will have them

He was an even better cricketer! Won league medal in both sports, I’ve heard he’s leaving Devon this year, all the committee need to go at a minimum, pretty much same thing happened to the cricket club big internal fighting then all good players left,

Edi Asp 1999-2002 best side I have seen at local level. Dominated a very strong MPNFL at the time (when there was 3 divisions including all the Casey clubs). YCW for longetivity might have them covered but that Eagles
team of 2000 was unbelievable!
