He is really trying to make it take off in the US.

Would have to get to AFL Level to really get it going

Why is he running in the snow in just skins, I know skins keep you warm during normal temps but its freakin snowing lol

WTF? So that was "promotional"? Boy I can see them just all lining up to get onto the international rookie list now.

That was pretty darn sad. I know he hasn't got the skills like kicking or anything but at least he could have taken a speckie over a car or something to make the ad amusing?

Read the twitter link. It is a teaser/promo for something that is going to air in about 6 months.

He is going all out it seems. I hope he does well because the yanks love us. I work for a call center here in Canada that takes calls for Sprint USA. They always comment on the accent and just love everything about Australia. Some have friends or rellatives in Australia and those ppl all know about the AFL and think the game is great.

It could do wonders to have someone do well from the US. It is different with Sav and Ben going to the USA, as most Australians generally take the pi$$ out of the NFL. But the yanks are enthralled by a contact sport played without pads and they love "The Aussies" thus I think two or three US players in the AFL could impact faster than we think.

You know I have to be honest, I don't think I've ever wanted a Collingwood player to do well my whole life but after reading the points you make, I actually wouldn't mind him succeeding a little bit.

Eww I fell so dirty now.:o

That's what we train in up here. My club (women's footy) starts pre-season indoors when it's -40 degrees Celcius outside, then head out once it warms up to -15. We train in the snow for the next 4-6 weeks, and play in it occasionally if the thaw is yet to hit. Skins are the gear of choice as they allow you to avoid overheating and don't restrict movement. We also wear gloves in the snow to avoid frostbite, and afterward head to the pub to thaw out. For the locals players (90% of our list), anything above -10 degrees is a pretty comfortable temperature.

Yeah sounds delightful, just like our 44c heat we had on Monday in Melbourne. :p:D

Nah seriously thanks for the post - quite interesting. Where's your location? Wisconsin too? Tell us more about the women's footy? How long has it been going for?
