Do the players really want Harvey, coz there is a danger that he'll want to go back to the Bombers. O'Donnell apparently doesn't want to coach, wants to be a football director. That opens it up for Harvey !!
We may still get Sheedy !!

Sheedy has done nothing wrong this year to get the job at freo. Main problem for him has been a lack of talent and depth in areas at Essendon.

I am still not sold on the idea that Harvey was behind freo's revival last year, so basically I don't think we have seen what he bring's to the club.

Agreed with some of the other poster's....Let's have both.

Though...After trying Neesham, Drum and Conolly...I think it's time to chase a established coach.

I agree. Harvey has spent 7 years under Sheedy, what's he going to learn now? If I was Harvey I'd be keen to stand on my own two feet.

Harvey will be the man for this year and the next 2 at least.

Sheedy would be a great fit for Freo. Increase membership (not that freo needs it), and he could build up the rivalry even more so between wc and freo.

Can we go a direct swap..it's been reported for years around essendon that harvs only left to get "outside" experience under someone that wasn't sheeds. also widely reported that harvs would be coming back to coach essendon in 08.

A direct swap would be win-win for all parties. We would get Sheeds, he would get a challenge, Ess would get Harvey and Harvey would get his dream.

some people never want to coach but like being Assistants. Mark Riley at Melbourne has been an assistant coach since 1995.

I didnt say we should get him at all. I said i think he will be our next coach, no oh we should go chase him or anything like that i actually said i think it will happen.

Harvey took 48 hours to accept the 7 weeks assignment of steering our ship. When asked why he took so long he noted among other things that he wanted to confide in Sheedy.
Just what was said between the pair I wonder. Here's my guess -

"Sheeds, how are ya mate!"

"What are your plans next year mate. Freo have offerred me the last 6 games and I believe they want you next year".
