Roast Should Richmond begin searching for Luke Meehan's replacement immediately?

Should Richmond look for a big bucks, top tier replacement for Luke "The Punt Rd Slasher" Meehan?

  • Yes. Club needs to be ruthless and "Pay the Price!".

  • No. We should back in Meehan and gamble our aging stars bodies, potentially sacrificing 2024.

  • No. replace with another el cheapo McGee with their online $29 P.T cert IV and cross our fingers.

  • Undecided.

Richmond
I don't know the bloke personally. All I want is the biggest and best club in the land to fill their critical roles with the best candidates. I was shocked when Caro reported on Footy Classifieds last year that Richmond wasn't going to hold interviews for a replacement, they were just going to promote the bloke in charge of setting up witches hats and carrying the Gatorade. Ross the boss was unhappy with his Physical Performance Manager, so he sacked him and poached a better one after 6 rounds. WCE have already come out and said they're going to conduct a worldwide search to find their replacement.

Next year approx $4mil? out of our $14mil salary cap is tied up in aging 4 players:
Dusty $1.3 mil 32yrs 9 months start of season 2024
Lynch $1.5 mil 31yrs 6 months start of season 2024
Prestia $700k+ 31yrs 6 months start of season 2024
Grimes $400k? 32yrs 9 months start of season 2024

Almost 30% of our players salaries will be taken up by 4 aging stars. All 4 are gonna need minor miracles to keep them relatively injury free for the remainders of their contracts. Next year surely will be Grime's last and most likely Prestia's with his injuries stacking up. Lynch and Dusty up forward on reduced 80% minutes, 20 games a year could potentially make it to 2026?
That has next to zero chance of happening with our current setup. $100,000,000 business can be brought undone by buying a cheap no named gasket from China. With Hardwick gone and the drum rolls are beating louder the Coaches Association wanting the soft cap brought back to pre-covid. The club can afford to spend up big in other areas by having a young untried Senior coach on peanuts.

With Dimma's $1.4 million a year contract now gone and new coach will be on $600k we will have the cash to spend on a better fitness guy

Whats the name of the guy at the eagles ?

New untried coach will be on $400 - $450 max same as McRae. Dimma was only on $900- $1.1 million. He was only the 3rd highest paid. Clarko up to $1.6 million :oops::oops: and Longmire $1-$1.2million.

Link ?

How you know this willis ?

There's this thing called Google. If you want to see pictures of a Red Corvette. You type in red corvette. Then click images and voila. If you want to find out Afl coaches salaries. You search "Afl Coaches Salaries" then you read 4 or 5 articles and get an approximate ball park figure. Weirdly enough approx 80% of posters will ask for links and wait rather than do their own research. Or you ask any sources who work at AFL clubs you know and they give you their best guestimation.

Here's one:

triple premiership coach Damien Hardwick on an estimated $900,000 to $1.1 million,

LOL Yeah its estimated

You really believe that Hardwick fresh off winning 3 premierships is going to be around the same range as the others

I
Voted option 3 for the LOLs, but I think there is definitely something going wrong the program, from the amount of soft tissue injuries and the time taken for rehab.

If you can't remember ... I am available on Mondays after 10 and Wednesdays before 1 on the days I am not taking my Grandma to bowls ... but I am just down Bridge Rd at The Vine lol .... you know, if anything urgent pops up any other day lol

Hard to say, Meehan wouldn’t really make any decisions in isolation and especially for players returning from injuries any decisions made about increasing load would be done in consultation with multiple doctors and specialists both club and external

Meehan would probably look after general fitness of the players and the conditioning side of things not individual return from injury programs

Why is that moderators tend to also be the most rational/composed of us here, compared with the stock standard lynch mob brigade? Question was probably already answered.
