Anybody else picked this up yet?

Just got it today, haven't played it yet though. Loved the first one so am really looking forward to this.

The review from IGN didn't fill me with faith, basically they said it was good, but not good enough for a sequel, plus it sounds as if the camera-man will end up getting really annoying with the overuse of the word 'dude'.

Probably won't end up picking this up even though I really liked Skate, just too many other games I want before this.

Have played a couple of hours now.

Enjoying it so far. Perhaps hasn't been as good as I thought but I think thats just because I built it up a fair bit because of how much I loved the first.

There seems to be more contests in this one which i really like and more skateparks which makes it more enjoyable. The controls when you get off the board aren't too flash but when your on it they are awesome.

Played the demo, controls were horrible and the camera was shithouse.

Can i just ask have you played the first one? Or did you just download the demo, play for 20 mins and give up cause the controls are different?

The controls in both games are awesome. They are so much better than any skating game to date. It is just so much more fluid. Its a really realistic feeling game.

It took me a good couple of hours to get the hang of them (always kept going back to Tony Hawk controls) but when you do its awesome.

I do agree that the camera can get a bit annoying but i wouldn't call it s**thouse.

Havn't played skate 1, did only download the skate 2 demo. You might've like the controls, I didn't. I hate having to stike up with the R analog stick to olley and then randomly press buttons in hope of doing a trick. Is there a way to control the camera? It's always in the most difficult spots.

There wasn't a way of changing the camera in skate 1. Haven't checked skate 2 yet though. Fair enough I just think that once you are used to them you could never go back to Tony Hawk controls

You do realise that you dont need to press buttons to do tricks, right?

No way Kerrbs, Skate has the best controls for a skating game, HANDS DOWN!

I don't care what kind of changes they made to the system for Skate 2 but Skate's controls were the best that there has been, so fluid, so realistic and really immersive.

Have really been enjoying this so far.

The career mode is pretty cool. A heap of stuff to do in it. The hall of meat component of the game is a nice inclusion and adds a fun side activity.

Multiplayer is pretty good as well. Plenty to do as well. Have spent a lot of time mucking around in the hall of meat mode where you take in turns seeing who can do the biggest crash.

HBK, Having only read the gamespot review of this game (It got about 7.5, i would guess IGN gave it about the same) i have barely noticed any the of the problems that they said brougt the game down. So if you liked Skate i would reccommend at least giving this a rental

hired this on friday for a week. loving it more than the original which i played to death. completing the challenges are frustrating, but the sense of achievement you receive when completing them is imo, unmatched in any other game. the challenges often take dozens of attempts to complete, but you never feel that they are unachieveable and are therefore very addictive. the controls are great, but they take a little bit of practice to master. after playing skate 1, i had a dip at a new tony hawk game, and put the controller down after five minutes. TH games are just far too arcadey for mine.

the only issue ive had with this game is that it has frozen my 360 a few times. i have installed it to the hdd, but it still freezes occasionally. it doesnt happen in other games.

Have only played the demo (not the original) and it's definitely got some potential. Controls will take some getting used to, but definitely feels fresh, particularly after the tedium of the Tony Hawks series (TH3 was brilliant, went downhill and fast after that).

Might give the game a try.

Anyone else find it amazingly ghey that you can actually buy the finishing of this game.

The Skate 2 - Time Is Money game pack is now available on the PSN(And I'm guessing XBL) for $6.95 and unlocks all locations, skaters and gear that is unlocked through career and online modes.

Honestly, why bother if you are just gonna cheat your way through the game nowadays?!?

Cheats are for n00bs!

Really? I hadn't seen that. There is an absolute ton of stuff to do in it but I wouldn't think there would be too many people who would buy this. There is one challenge giving me the s***s though. lol.

I just don't get the point of it, why would you buy a game if you were that lazy to buy a pack that finishes the game for you?!?

Just shows where this generation of gaming is heading I guess.

LOL, this is great.
