looking forward to this game. loved morrow wind. oblivion was ok but its main massive flaw was how the monsters level was all based on your level. as you level the monsters got stronger. i much much prefar exploring through the massive land and stumbling across some really strong monster and spending two hours trying to kill it. the gothic games are good for this. i know there was a mod to fix it, but still. anyone know if skyrim is gonna be like that?

i love these big sand box games, rarely ever stick to the main quests, much prefare to explore and i get a massive kick out of breaking into everyone's houses and stealing every ones stuff.

another thing i reckon doesn't make the game as good is fast travel/teleporters between towns. i understand why they have them, but it makes the world feel so much more involved if your forced to walk or ride between towns. these also should be more monsters than oblivion out in the wild.

also imo a game like this has to be pc not console. to many times games are ruined by being developed for console then ported to pc.

saw this posted at Reddit....

As the title says, I am a high school teacher. My history class will be reciting John Macrae's "In Flander's Fields" at the Remembrance Day assembly, much to their chagrin.

Yesterday, a student brought this note to me, written by her father, to explain why she would not be able to attend on November 11th.

Sorry, had trouble posting the note. Here it is:

What's the point of a live action trailer when in reality the game will look nothing like that? I wanna see more game footage.

Does anyone know what JB HI FI are like with pre-orders?

I was just on their website and noticed that if I pre-order from there it's not available to pick up in store, it says they will deliver for free.

What I want to know is will they deliver on the 11th?

I don't mind either picking it up in store or having it delivered as long as I get it on the 11th. If I have to go through the entire weekend hearing from other people about how awesome it is I think I'll shit myself. (srs)

I would just go the pick up, for safety. I can't imagine how I would feel if my pre-order didn't come on the 11th. I'd cry, most likely.

I haven't played any Elder Scrolls games but I loved Fallout 3 and NV because of the exploration. Will I like this?

If you like exploration, you will love this.

Then you will love it

Oblivion is still a great game as well.

I've been going back through Oblivion in preparation for Skyrim :D
Arkham City had to be put on hold for it.

Yeah good - instore anyway. I've pre-ordered from JB a few times instore, and never had a problem getting the game on release day. I usually do it with big name games just to make sure they'll have my copy put aside if they sell out.

I've never tried pre-ordering online with them though, so aren't sure there sorry. If I were buying it on PS3 for myself, I would be pre-ordering instore at JB (I pre-ordered on Steam a while back). Unless different JBs make a difference? But yeah, my local one is good.

One pre-order I did get instore, I were under the assumption that I would get the pre-order bonus I'd seen on the website (Fallout 3 I think it was?), but it ended up they were for online orders only. GTAIV on the other hand, I did get the pre-order bonus. IIRC, both were crappy bonuses anyway, so didn't really care either way. But with the guide as the bonus, it could be worth double checking that you'll get that, if instore.

Thanks mate.

I was hoping I could pre-order online to pick up in store but doesn't seem like that's the case.

I'll just go in and order it to be safe.

Apparently the strategy guide is 650 pages. I'll try not to look at it too much until I've played for a fair while, and even then it will just be to admire, rather than get a leg up in the game.

Cannot wait till the 11th, best part is, my holidays start on the 13th. Thankfully i will have a week in Port Stephens halfway thru to get my Vitamin D levels back up!

For some reason until about a week ago I thought it came out on the third. Was bloody shattered when I realised how wrong I was :(
