This will be his first game in cementing his spot so what will be a pass mark for him.

Fair to say he will be under a lot of self inflicted pressure and in some way it's better he's playing away

Your thoughts ???

He will be under alot of self inflicted pressure, especially if he reads some of the posts on this forum about how he's supposed te be the "be all and end all" of our forward problems for the next 10 years....let alone the underlying Neil Craig conspiracy theories ....bahahaha please! Its a professional football club not "forrester industries" from the bold and the beautiful

I'd be happy with 1 or 2 goals as long as his attack on the footy is 100%...
hopefully he can turn it on and cement his spot ...and you're right an away game is ideal :thumbsu:

A good number of tackles (3-5), a goal or two and harassing the defenders with the ball well (causing bad kicks/mistakes from North players etc.). I think that would suffice.

I think the bigger question is what's the pass mark for Craigy's handling of Tex? I would have thought at least 70% game time, starting every quarter on the field, and being predominantly stationed within proximity of the goalface would be an acceptable effort.

I think he really has to keep his opponent boundary side...... :p

But seriously, I want to see him given some space, play out of the square relatively isolated - and let him do what he's good at. Beating opponents 1-on-1, and kicking goals.

All he needs to do is just create a contest. I've noticed that at times he doesn't really compete in the air for the ball which is disappointing. He often looks for cheap ball out the back. He needs to attack every contest and just provide a target up there.

For me it'll be all about what he does without the ball in his hand:

- Tackling
- Ability to get his hands dirty and scrap for the ball
- Handball receives
- Reaction time switching from offensive thinking to defensive thinking

Hope he does well .....looking forward to seeing him live

I was critical of his inclusion but I hope he proves me wrong!
The question is will he play to AFL or SANFL standard?

The forward line is struggling so we need him to contest!

Well considering Burton's form that wasnt even SANFL standard not sure why you would have any doubts

Pass mark ? Show a brain, get a kick, pressure, kick a goal. Bigtime FAIL to 1/2 time.

Birdman where art thou ?

Have we really gone that mad to wish for Burton to return after being dropped? :( I think so.

lol yeah, bring back the Birdman - our lord and saviour! :D

The 1st quarter mistake was all kinds of fail - but Gary Ablett Snr would look like a shitkicker in this forward line, when you consider the gameplan, well........ and the fact that no one is in there anyway.

This:thumbsu:... with our current set up any forward would struggle with that shocking delivery. Doesn't help that our for some stupid reason Craig insists on this 18 man zoning crap where they ALL have to move up the ground... this leaves us completely high and dry on the rebound when were front of centre. What is Craig's problem with keeping a forward in the F50?!

Well this post looks even stupider now... Walker was easily our most dangerous forward today... yes he stuffed up a couple of times but he just needed to get himself into the game. Funnily enough when the Crows were up and delivering the ball well in that final quarter he looked very good. Not to mention he laid a couple of good tackles... one that went shockingly unrewarded and he also set up a shot on goal by Cooky by standing up in a tackle and dishing off a clever handball. His defensive side of his game today was certainly no worse than Burton's efforts this year.
