The Socceroos are set to test themselves against the might of Lionel Messi's Argentina and Neymar's Brazil when they take part in the Copa America 2020.
The invitees for the 2020 edition of Latin America's version of the Asian Cup or European Championship are Qatar and Australia.
The tournament will be staged between June 12 and July 12 next year, jointly hosted by Colombia and Argentina. It will be the last of the annual versions of the tournament as the Copa will, in future, be staged every four years.
FFA chairman Chris Nikou, chief executive David Gallop and Mark Falvo, the organisation's head of corporate strategy, international and government relations, are currently negotiating the fine details of the arrangement in France at the FIFA Congress, which is being staged around the Women's World Cup.
