The stats suggest he really should be considered as a full time midfield prospect.

I don't care what the eggspurt at Crowcast says, He's a gun small forward that is very capable of bursts through the midfield even extended bursts and that's the best way to use him.

Nah. Not a natural ball winner. He's never shown he's capable of getting enough of the ball to be a mid.

When played at CBA's Pedlar has an exceptional clearance rate, exactly what we get smashed at. He is always going to be a low TOG guy, there is no reason he can't attend a few centre bounces a quarter and then rotate onto HF and free up Izak to go on ball. Winning quick clearances and getting the ball in quick to the talls and Rankine would create all sorts of headaches for the defense.

That was my point - Peatling is listed as someone we could have taken over Parnell. Instead we busted with Parnell who never looked like he could compete physically at AFL level and it cost us a future second pick (and loose change) to bring Peatling to the club three years later

That mid-season draft was abhorrent. We take a midget back pocket with no real weapons, the very next pick was a guy who would've been the perfect developing ruck to pressure Rob. Not long after goes Sam Durham who would be very handy.

Parnell not even on a list anymore, Moyle would now be our best ruck and Durham would be a walk-up starter in our midfield.

He's quoting stats. What Crowcast thinks is kind of irrelevant. A player with stats like that should be considered a midfield prospect, and as you would know he was a mid in U16s so it's not a position he doesn't know how to play.

The look that Davis gave Nicks in the box when HS kicked it OOF against collingwood.

It said everything.

you wouldn’t see it live, but I’d imagine Burgess would have had to bite his tongue a fair bit. Our selection philosophy provides the opposite outcome to trying to have a group primed for September football.

It’s built upon Neil Craig’s overtraining regime that only ever worked when Doc Sando had us on colostrum. Neil then became senior coach and implemented that exact strategy and routinely wore down the list to the obvious September failure outcome.

He was too scared to hit the lines anymore when Cahill stopped coaching him. That was what made him elite, the amount of winners he hit that "touched chalk" was sensational during his time as number 1.
Without wanting to derail or degrade Hewitt's gamestyle which was good enough to get him to World No 1 and win 2 grand slam events - a super super achievement, he really was a player that when he came up against the Nadal's, Federer's etc of the world struggled as they could hit the ball better from the baseline than him.

One of my all time favorite finals was the Wimbeldon final Rafter V Sampras. I love Rafter as a player as he is one that tried anything (legal) to win the game. Baseline, chip and charge, net game, vary the pace of his shots - everything and he used every trick he knew V Sampras and still was overpowered in the end by a guy that also had the tricks. Its the never die wondering approach I love and I wish we had a coaching group that was a little more aligned to that philosophy.

When he was with Cahill, he regularly trounced Federer and Nadal was only 15. Federer didn't start getting on top until 2004 against Hewitt. I remember the US Open in 2001, he belted Sampras in a way I hadn't seen before, made him look second rate at a time when I think he was still number 1.

I really believe from the time Cahill left (wanted to be part time coach, not full time and Hewitts parents said no) that he no longer employed coaches that challenged him (Stoltenberg, Draper) they were more friends, hitting partners, which is probably unfair but it caused Hewitt to become comfortable and for wannt of a Balboa phrase, he lost hiis "eye of the tiger"

How good he is doesn’t really matter, whether you’re interested or not, our LM group is. Why they’re not offering him the same as we are is irrelevant to their negotiating position. What matters is what they think they can get from us. And at this stage they think they can get more than a future second and small change.

The next step is that Ah Chee’s manager starts questioning whether we can get the deal done. The pressure will start being applied. It’s already impacting logic around here.
Brissie have painted themselves into a corner. Big bucks for Draper and Allen and Bailey a free agent next year mean they can't offer Ah Chee anything close to what we have. They need him off the books. Let's take it to the deadline. No other club will offer a 1st rounder for him. They have no leverage in this deal.

Plus I think his style of play was incredibly taxing on the body, particularly his feet.

What Lleyton was able to do as a teenager was incredible, I saw him beat Agassi in Adelaide. Now Andre was getting older, but Hewitt was barely 17

Geez, you’d have to be an idiot to think it has anything to do with AhChee staying. That’s not happening. Try again.

Ollie Florent former housemate of Dawsons in Sydney. Fits the age profile though not sure he’s the sort of type we’re in real need of

Speculation Bailey will sign a long term extension at Brisbane...until its signed its not, but that would be a big money deal for them so all the more reason to load shed..who else could we go after from them.

Grand final day my friends wife was there and she’s grew up with his mum and step dad. She said he hasn’t made any decisions for staying on or not yet. His partner is from Brisbane and loves the club. He was coming back to Adelaide to talk to his family in the offseason. Money was huge from all party’s including Brisbane.
