Someone on one of the threads said Rozee 'might' have a very good reason to want to head to Victoria and not stay in Adelaide....cryptic but has he been a naughty boy????
Something must be very wrong... to ship the captain of the team away, when he even had a party to play in bringing in a big recruit last year ... strange rumour

I don't think you pick up a free agent ruck if you're not intending to play them, though. I understand there's no draft pick outlay, but it will cost a fair amount of salary if we're just planning on using him to nip at O'Brien's heels in the SANFL.
It's far from ideal but we've ignored ruck depth for some time, so we may have to overpay to catch up. I personlly still only see Draper as "interim" to buy time to find someone better but if OBrien goes down with a long term injury with our current depth we are potentially in a fair bit of bother 'cos it would all rest with McAndrew who may or may not be up to it. It does seem Rucks have a premium price due to the shortage of good ones but at OBriens age we can't expect he will continue indefinitely without injuries, we need a plan B and a plan C

For all the shit we give him, Rozee would be elite in our team off halfback and without the weight of captaincy.
Probably his best position.

... as opposed to our captain who has transitioned from HBF to midfield.

Its not really much of a story, only people in here are talking about it.

So not getting a mention on your podcasts? You’re pretty excited about yourself when it comes to not imbibing any mainstream media. Perhaps if you weren’t so insular with your listening choices, you’d realise that it’s not just in here.

It's interesting to hear it from ROB. Obviously the news has affected him if he's talking about it in this way.

I feel for him. Fancy getting the 3 years you’re demanding and thinking all you had to do was stay ahead of McAndrew and then you find out that your signing hasn’t deleted to the publicly known interest the club had in Draper. The poor genius must have been absolutely shocked.

Mostyn told me it was ridiculous to say that ROBs form fluctuates depending on his contract status.

Now we want to recruit another ruck and he's sooking about it in the media.

ROB is only concerned about list structure and best use of finite salary cap. He cares nothing about himself, it’s all about the club. He’d play for nothing, but his manager won’t let him.

Can’t work out why you’d want out of your home state. Team sure.

My read on this rumour is his issues aren't with the Power, it suggests it's not football related.

So it's more that he wants out of this state than he wants out of the Power.

(Not that I believe the rumour)

It wouldn't make sense for us to re-sign O'Brien to a three-year deal, and then go out and spend big money on another lead ruck. I can't imagine any scenario where we're pursuing Draper for any reason other than to bring in a ready-made big body to replace Walker.

And transition to being first ruck ready during 2027. Our interest in adding Draper to our list was concurrent with our desire for ROB to accept our 2 year extension offer. Adding the 3rd year demanded by ROB doesn’t impact whatever our initial plans were for our 2026 and 2027 seasons. This is rudimentary, it amazes me that so many posters are having trouble understanding it.

It's draper who's neither a good forward or good ruckman... i don't think he's got anything to worry about Especially since he's getting paid either way

Whilst I get the joke.

RoB will be paid more post AFL career in the field he will go into.

Footy money may not motivate him.
