normally i'm whatever about spiders. they catch loads of things. their webs are a bit annoying cause they have a tendenancy to congeragate in door ways.
but i'm not cool when it strategically places itself behind my face washer in the shower. first spider i've killed in a while. a resillient bugger. haven't seen many indoors for ages. estimate 8-10cm span.

... been in Dubbo NSW for six weeks ... seen more spiders inside our house in that time than in the last 20 years in Adelaide! 
(albiet in Adelaide redbacks were abound in gardens/sheds/under trash-havent spotted any over here - yet?)
There was about 6 cute little ones in the ceiling corners of lounge/family room last week ... I let them be but where have they gone now and how quickly will they grow!

Got a big huntsman on our living room wall at the moment who has been there for a couple of weeks.
Not sure what motivates them to stay like that; we havent been feeding him or anything.

I remember as a kid, on a holiday to Bruny Island, I had a huntsman at eye level to my bunk. It was there for 3-4 days. Wasn't fazed by it. My Grandmother used to have them everywhere, they all had names...of course!
Then when we moved to the country, we had these mutant ****ers, with fat backs...and 100's of baby huntsmen popped up around the place. The only time it became a problem was when the Mrs stayed over, then I had to catch the buggers and remove them
Now anytime they appear, the Mrs can't be in the same room and I am forced to get them. I have no fear of them, but still get nervous trying to catch them. The thought of them crawling on me gives me shivers haha

Just went down to the shed fridge to get a few things out. Had a strange thought to myself on the way back to the house. For all my constant arachnophobia and behaving like a girl around spiders, it's not enough to make me wanna put pants, a shirt, and shoes on, even though I have to duck and weave around about 5 webs on the way, most being red backs.

Got into the shower this very morning. Turn on the water, pull the curtain closed and reach for the soap when I see out of the corner of my eye A HUGE HAIRY OPEN-HAND-SIZED MOTHER****ER ON THE CURTAIN LESS THAN 100mm FROM MY FACE.
Had to spray the shit out of that bastard till he fell to the floor so I could get him with the broom. Bang - spider guts everywhere.
Spiders can GAGF.
Woke up a lot faster than usual though.

Had an experience like this once. I ALWAYS check the shower curtain before stripping down and hopping in. Always. Everyday. It's a ritual of mine.

I went to the mailbox today and picked up some mail, in the middle of the pile was a spider that I didn't see until it was halfway up my arm, no idea what spider it was but it was quick. Freaked out in front of my house.

I live by myself in an apartment building, on the 1st floor. And I was the first apartment occupant after the building was built.
In the 2 years I've lived here, I had never ever seen a single critter. They basically have to scale the outside of the building, and then pray to god that I leave the screen door on my balcony open for a couple minutes, so that they can sneak in and do the devil's work. Since the door locks itself, no one can get in, so you feel very safe when going to sleep.
Anyway, a few weeks ago, I saw a daddy long legs whilst taking a shower, and while having that initial chill up the spine like always, what a legend! He must be the elite bank-heister of the insect world. The only insect i've ever seen in my apartment in 2 years. Seriously, the chance of an insect sneaking in here is about 1%.
By the way, how stupid are spiders! Seriously, if you are about to choose where to spend tireless hours constructing an amazing web work of art, surely you'd suss out the place first, check a lot of human traffic doesnt come through. Just sayin, the front door of a house is a lame place to make your web.
Same with those plover birds. If you are about to have a nest, take some time finding a suitable place. I dont know how many times I have seen those birds nesting in absolutely ridiculous and busy places.

See this is what i don't get. Those w***er spider apologists will always say "Huuurrrrrr the spiders are more afraid of you than you are of them". Doubt it. I've never been so shit scared of something that i decided the best course of action was to run AT it and then run UP its arm or leg.
