had one of these on my school bus on Friday.

Was next to a mate on the window and he just jumped into my seat. It was hanging on it's web so i blew it and it jumped onto the seat onto my arm (i have arachnophobia) and i had a heart attack. Pushed the guy off my seat (I lol'd after) and he fell into the aisle and i just went up the front. Some chick got it after about 5 minutes, but i stayed at the front.

that's an angry looking little ****er, had a white tail on my arm today while mowing the lawn, looked around and flicked the prick off my arm then went over it with the mower just to make sure.
now with the warmer weather, these bastards are making their way in the house to get a little cooler.
the missus went and bought 2 cans of barrier spray today at bunnings and i while spray every singly entry point so they cant get in.

f*** me I wish I didn't look at this thread

picked up a table tennis paddle today and saw the tiniest thing on the other side, completely s*at my pants and ran halfway across the backyard, a cleanup of my room is needed.

I love spiders. I find them unique and creepy, not to mention they scare the shit out of people. I have a couple around my room. I've named them Jack and Harry :D

Wouldn't mind a tarantula as a pet some time in the future.

Yep. It's starting to warm here in Adelaide and I've already killed a few inside already. Not to mention the one I killed 10 minutes ago crawling on the ceiling almost directly above my head.

Why is it we can waste money on saving species of animals, but no one has set up a centre to research a genetically engineered virus that will kill spiders and only spiders?

From this thread I know I and many others here and around the world millions would happily contribute enough to employ many scientists to solve the problem. :thumbsu:

Oh my f***ing god, you ***** have cursed me, just looked up and there was one above my head on the roof, tiny as f*** but I'll try and kill it..

Harsh. I cant kill em...only the ugly black ****ers and thats mainly cause I'm too scared to transport them outside and too scared they'll pop up later somewhere I dont want them. Little ones I can let be, and huntsmen I will gladly put in a cup and set free outside (closer to the neighbours, of course!)

@Andre...couldnt put up with the flies in your scenario!

i nearly crashed my car once when a spider crawled across the inside of my windscreen. was half watching the spider, half watching the road for the entire journey.

Haha, that shit was brilliant. Tried to act all pro, then bailed like a bitch

This morning when I went to get in the car I walked through a spiderweb. Strange, seeing as it'd only been there overnight. When I walked around to the driver's door I walked through two more.

....The car has about 2m clearance on all sides.

When I got to school to drop my son off, one of the ladies squeal, and some bloke thumps me on the back hard enough to wind me.

I now have a big black (and purple?) stain all over my shirt.

...supposedly the spider was about 10cm long....just the body. From the stain, I'd almost believe it.

Had a Huntsman drop on my shoulder during a shower once. Never had the shit scared out of me more in my life.

Drowned the poor bugger before I realised he wasn't anything dangerous.

Great thread!

I wouldn't say that i am scared of spiders or hate them, in fact, i do find them interesting and somewhat cool... sometimes.

My rule with spiders, which they seem to ignore, is that they can survive just fine as long as they don't set up shop inside my bedroom, toilet or above the shower... all the places they can drop on you when you are defenceless. Failure to abide by this simple rule results in instant death.

When i was younger i never had any problem with spiders at all, until one decided to build his web (while i was asleep) from my bed up to my ceiling fan... which resulted in me waking up with a flipping hand-sized spider in front of my face in the morning. Any attempt to move, was met with a panic from the spider himself. It was just unpleasant for all involved. Lucky that one swift swat with my alarm clock sorted the bugger out :D

I wikipedia'd it, and those pictures can't be from this spider. Well, not the gaping hole in the leg one. Supposedly they run 10mph, which is pretty damn fast, but don't have venom and have a leg span at the largest of 5 inches.

Still, i'd be shitting myself.
Bit of a delayed response, but it's actually a brown recluse spider bite.

Google it. It's foul.

Male Mouse Spider, Had a few of these suckers appear at a work site I was on earlier this year, nasty little suckers with big teeth, fire right up when pissed off. Come out after rain looking for female Mouse Spiders (which are all black and about x2 as big) to mate. The ones I found mated with the bottom of my size 8's
