Not sure about this. Get spoilt too much and have everything handed to you on a silver platter and there's a good chance you don't put in the hard yards academically in order to get where you want.

Terrible post.

PK makes a good point in response, but also lack of physical activity is proven to lead to increased mental and physical health issues. So yeah, if you want your kids to be more likely to suffer these issues and have double the likelihood of a premature death (which is what happens as a result of being overweight) then by all means let them play games all the time and never engage in physical activity.

It's the parents fault for taking the easy way out and giving in and giving them what they want. Smart parents teach their kids the value of money and make them earn material things. Kids need to learn that money is earnt from hard work, not by begging.

My mum came from a family of nine and my dad from a family of four.

The idea of giving my cousins presents amuses me. I can't even remember half their names or what they look like.

COD is a present for close family members at best, not 12 year old cousins. Give him something from the $2 section. A torch or something.
