Maybe get a clue before you start posting. Buffering has had 12 group one starts, less than half of these races have had BC or HL in the race.

The only thing we can gather is that when he is the hunted in big races he doesn't win. When he has other stars in the race who get attention like BC & Haylist he can roll along and do his own thing and run big races. Everyone will have their eye on Sea Siren this week and he might just sneak away with one.

Sea Siren has drawn perfectly in 9. Barriers 6-10 have had roughly half of all the placegetters in the straight races over the last 3 days and Buffering finds himself right on the outside. We only have the Maribyrnong plate to assess how they will go out wide before this race and unfortunately the three fancied ones are in barriers 10,11,12 (in a 12 horse field) so the numbers may be skewed and might not be much help.

R2 - Galah should be favourite, but too short @ 2.40. Morant had a good run behind Fawkner/Freewheeling last week, and that form is good. I'm not sure he'll get the distance, breeding says maybe. Not much speed in the race, but that hurts Galah as much as this bloke.

R3 - Sertorius, up 4.5kg, 400m, not a great barrier draw for a horse that likes to go forward, think 2.65 is unders too. Holyonny drops 2kg, and has been running good times.

Flat Chat, Foreign Minister go forward, maybe even Why Not? You know what happens when there looks no speed, everyone gets the same idea that they will lead and then it ends up being run at a mad pace. I don't think the Fawkner form is up to Fat Al & Hallowelle Belle. Morant has been up for a long time and Galah is peaking here. I can't see him beating Galah home.

Hoylonny, although impressive over 2000m in Sydney really hasn't beaten much. Sertorius is consistantly thrashing a good class of horse and with each rise in distance shows more and more improvement. Go and watch the last 50m of the Sale Cup again!

I'm with you Roosty. Unders, especially Galah. In R2 I thought Kutchinsky was worth an e/w ticket. 2nd start in the O'Brien stable after running a solid 2nd first up. Few weeks to train up for the mile on his home deck. Ollie on minimum weight $18/$5.20 currently.

In R3, I thought Destiny's Kiss was well weighted. Was badly held up at MV and meets Mourinho 2kgs better for a 1.4L defeat. Should get over $2 the place which is a clear value. I'd have Hoylonny on top.

Stakes - If Over Quota could get a run (big if) I'll be having a dash. Won't know himself with $53.5kg. If he doesn't, I'm prepared to give Streama another crack. Hopefully Huge has learnt his lesson. Despite the draw, won't be a bad place to be that stage of the day. $17/$6.50 currently.

I'm not sure about Snitzerland, she's certainly not 50-1 its more like 14-1. I think some of these other older ones might be a bit too tough for her right now and $15 seems a bit short.

Agree with R4, has the same sizzling form as the toppy but is twice the price. The one I was keen on is EXIMUS ew. Beat Crystal Web ( who has form around Al Aneed & Pronto Pronto)comfortably at first start, which was at flem down the straight. Then was put out for 4 months. A couple of runs this time should be peaking and $50s are available.

You've implied the only thing that prevented Buffering from being a Group One winner was running into BC and HL and thats clearly false.
