He's really intimidating when he stretches to his full height!!!

Indian pace bowler Shantha Sreesanth on Tuesday said he would not be intimidated by Australian crowds during this summer's series Down Under and was confident of taking wickets.
Sreesanth, who was involved in an on-field verbal clashes with Australian allrounder Andrew Symonds during the ill-tempered India tour which ended in October, said he was undaunted by playing to local crowds.
"I am not scared," he told Inside Cricket magazine.
"In fact, I will take it as a challenge."
The Indian bowler, who was dropped for three of the seven one-day games against Australia in the last series, also said he was unfazed by the side which has dominated international cricket for years.
"I am Sreesanth and I'm not scared of any batsman in the world," he said.
"What's the worst that can happen -- six sixes? Well, I'm not really worried about that.
"Whatever I do on the field I do from the core of my heart; I don't act. This is the way I have played cricket all my life."
Sreesanth said while the verbal clashes between players during the India series were overplayed, Ricky Ponting's men were more than capable of defending themselves against taunts.
"I think all of that was over-played because it was not the first time in the history of the game that it has happened," he said.
"I didn't do anything close to what the Australians did.
"I don't want to name any cricketer. But it is just not me, everyone knows who does what on the field." Australia's tour of India was marred by crowds' racial taunts against Symonds, Australia's only black player, which included monkey gestures. India will play a four-Test series against Australia starting December 26.

We'll see.

Can you really see a bowling line up like Indias, on our pitches, taking 20 wickets in a test. I rate the SL bowling line up more highly and they were helped out to take 6-7 only by us going for some loose shots when heading for a dec. We bat so deep, and Indias bowlers will be the standard of a state 2nds team!

i agree that australia will absolutely smash indian pace bowling attack but i think if india decide to play both spin bowlers especially in melbourne and sydney, aussies have traditionally struggled against quality spin bowling attacks.

vettori, singh, kumble, kaneria to name a few

Don't rate the Indian bowlers bar Kumble.

But I don't rate the Australian bowlers either bar Clark.

Dravid, Laxman, Tendulkar, Dhoni, Ganguly, Jaffer and Yuvraj (who'll get a game eventually) will have a field day.

Wouldn't say we have struggled against those bowlers lately,

Maybe 10 years ago when playing away but the last tours of India, Sri Lanka we won both series, and in Sri Lanka we won 3 matchs trailing after the first innings - i would assume that doesnt happen to often on the subcontinent especially with murali in the attack.

India has a chance don't get me wrong, if they bat first and pile on the runs then their spinners can apply the screws with men around the bat and a big bucket of runs in the bank - normally meaning that the worst result is a draw for india, but as we have seen last year and in 03 its not always the case.

The key is men around the bat with the spinners.

Personally, i feel both the Australians and the Indians have better batting lineups then they do bowling line-ups, consquently, in that situation the toss is crucial - bat first and pile on the runs.

But I don't rate the Australian bowlers either.

Dravid, Laxman, Tendulkar, Dhoni, Ganguly, Jaffer and Yuvraj (who'll get a game eventually) will have a field day.

The problem is those batsmen are all ageing, consquently, as the reflexs slow genuine pace can bring those batsmen undone, thats why i feel Tait needs to play as well as Johnson and Lee who are both genuine pace.

I agree. It's going to take a few bowlers bowling above themselves to force results in these Tests I reckon.

I can't wait. He'll cop it from crowds here, as much as we're discouraged by Punta. I'm expecting some monkey chants for him, which is unfourtunate, but it'll happen.

Hope he gets hit for six sixes by Roy. Would love to see the little prick try and mouth off then.

Just a note to the Indian team;

DON'T BE SO CHEAP THIS TIME.

I remember I went to their training with some friends the last time they came (to get the autographs) and Australia had the morning session in the nets.

Anyway, Australia hits their high quality cricket balls over the nets and it was a case of whoever finds gets.

India hit some of theirs over the nets and they sent their captain out to retrieve them. I think they even stole one back of one of my friends. One of their older admin/coach dudes came looking for that one.

So India, once the ball clears the net let it go. Please.
Finders keepers.

The Indian players are nice though, especially when being mobbed by crazy Indian fans asking them all sorts of questions.

I remember one guy was basically telling VVS Laxman his life story. VVS was so patient.

But folks - that was the day I got Pathan's autograph. And I didn't even know who he was!

"Who was that?" I asked my friend.

Lucky we figured it.

The magic of Pathan was born on the 1st Day of that Test Match,

guess what Hayden? you're out! caught behind!

Pathan strikes.

I say,

Pathan strikes.

Yeh, so the 'ageing batsman principle' doesn't apply to the likes of Hayden, Ponting, Hussey and Gilchrist?

No of course it does, see Ashes 2005, Simon Jones and Flintoff the main destroyers - and both had pace in the 140's, 10 k's doesnt sound much but make no mistake, it makes a big difference.

The thing is India don't have any bowlers that can CONSISTENTLY hit the speeds Lee, Johnson and Tait can.

Next time i would appreciate if you read my post more accurately.

And that's where you're wrong. India doesn't have bowlers who can bowl faster than 150km/h, but Patel and Sreesanth consistently bowl above 140.

Not sure about this bloke. Reckon its good to have characters like him but he is a bit of a loose cannon.

Hopefully he doesnt carry on like a twat when he gets a wicket like he did in India. Doing that will just incite the Aussie crowds.

Dont have a problem in what he has said but he shouldnt whinge when the Aussie bowlers give him a bit of extra attention. Cop it on the chin son.

I can't stand the cocky little pr**k. Can't wait to see hm over here during the one dayer's particularly as I will be sure as hell unloading some abuse upon him (not racial, just general 'Bay13' type abuse).

He reminds me of Andre Nel actually...need I go any further with that mongrel.

Last time Australia were dismissed twice on home soil*: 1st Test v SL in Aus 2004 at Darwin (207 & 201)
