St Kilda's Third Quarter Against the Dawks

Not sure what to take out of this having just watched the second half. The Hawks did not give much, but St Kilda! My god that was just an amazing half they put together. Really they looked like Collingwood against us this year. Just absolutely all over them and not to be denied. Hopefully it's not a performance they struggle so much to replicate like Collingwood's was against us because that was sensational to watch. Scintillating stuff.

Yeah its times like that when I get reminded of Saints in years like 04 and 05 and just remember just how good they could be.

Hawthorn will need to improve to stand up against us. However they have what Bulldogs didnt today, and that was power forwards. Mooney was the difference in the first half; if it turns into a similiar match, could easily imagine Franklin or Roughhead bobbing up and being a pain. Will need to smash them in the midfield.

Seems they're beating the Cluster by winning the clearances and moving the ball on quick at every opportunity.

In other words, how we've been playing for the last 36 weeks.

They played out their arse to be honest, goals from the boundary line, hitting targets left right and centre all that stuff. Don't think ive seen so many difficult shots for goal go through in one game. Ah well thems the breaks.

ummj, hawthorn never "faded" they decided to pack up their bags and go home pretty much at half time. 3/4 of the Stkilda Fans were saying this at the match.

There is no way hawthorn will serve that up two weeks running.

As a hawk said earlier, The Saints could not do a thing wrong. Magnet hands, impossible kicks, perfect bounce's. Was just one of those matches.

but to your last point - it happens,. happened against us in Round Nine, and sure hope it wont happen again. And i have a tip - the Hawks will need that to happen for them rather than against them to win Friday night. Also, dont forget - you make your own luck............

I doubt we'll suffer the same sort of fade this week, we fell into the trap of thinking about Geelong a week or so too early and paid the price against an opposition capable of capitalising on 10 minutes of sloppy play and it was all over.

In isolation I don't think you can read to much into the second half fade.

Did it against the Swans too but they didn't have the forward line or midfield to exploit it. Still they got back within 16 points or so late in the game.
