I miss you Justin....

I get goosebumps when after McPharlins rundown the crowd shouts ball. Knowing what happens after makes it even better.
I remember getting hugged from strangers around me after the goal, awesome game

How good would it be right now to have JLo at Full forward changing in the ruck with Sandi? We never ever saw the best of JLo as he had bad knees from the start but geez he could take a great pack mark, was smart and skilful and was a top tap ruckman

I was at the Saint Kilda game (one of four AFL games I was lucky enough to see live) and loved every minute of it. I remember, sitting in the pocket to where we were kicking, thinking that it was all over when Farmer couldn't get boot to ball earlier, and the ball trickled over the line, and then again when McPharlin overcooked the kick to Schofield(?) after that brilliant mark. But most of all I remember that moment of silence between J-Lo kicking the ball and everyone cheering when we realised it was going through.

The Port game is best forgotten. If I recall correctly we didn't even need to win, but only stay within 20 points or so. Too much of an example of the dissapointment that was04,05 & 07 that game.

We could have lost, and if Melbourne had lost we'd have made the 8. As it was, Melbourne only just won their game. But, you make your own destiny.

I can't tell which season was more disappointing - 2004 or 2005. I think 2004 was worse - lost so many home games we should have won - Kangaroos, Melbourne, Collingwood. Depressing.

Best game I've ever been to and ever likely to go to. Also remember the Port game the week after, in front at halftime, Sandilands IIRC was absolutely monstering them, had about 10 touches in the first alone and then we just crumbled, bitterly disappointing especially after such an epic win the week before.

I remember that kick well, it was one of only two games I got to that year and I was dead set behind the kick as he lined up ... what a moment. :)

I was going through some old tapes the other day (wife insisting I throw the ones I don't want out) and saw a couple of games as late as 2006 when he was starting to feel the effects of those crapiola knees. He was still a gun player even then and would have been an A grader KPP player if still running around for us now ... and man could we do with one of those. :( Feel very sorry for him personally too. Anybody heard from him post 2007 when he was forced out of the team? Is he still involved somehow? Has he moved on to bigger and better things? What's up with the JLo?

I'm pretty sure he's an assistant coach with WP (?) or another WAFL club, can't quite remember but I saw him being interviewed a few Saturdays back during ABC's coverage of the WAFL game, could have been the Perth Derby.

Real shame about his knees, was such an important player and is still young too.

I remember losing a few cabbages on the derby the week before. I was gutted as I only bet on the Melbourne Cup. The missus said "How much did you lose?" From memory it was about $300 so I wacked the same amount on Freo vs the Saints.
When that kick was mid flight we knew it was close but the players told the story. I've never seen so many strangers hugging each other. Spine tingling stuff.
Miss you JLo.:(
Just on J Lo I thought he was a property developer in Geraldton along with Bellie? I know Bellie came back but not sure if J Lo did.

Ah, the Melbourne game. We were in front at 3/4 time, and then came torrential rain for pretty much the entire last quarter. I don't think we scored (certainly didn't score a goal anyway). Yet Melbourne kicked about 7. I remember walking out of the ground wondering how we could concede 7 goals in a quarter in torrential rain....

Melbourne got 6.7 to our 0.0

How the hell did these things happen?

Kangaroos was almost as bad. In front at 3 quarter time, they kick 5.3 to our 1.2 in the last quarter.

second best game ive ever been too, watchin dale kickett belt the urine out of phil read and then winning by under a goal still tops my list..... time to change my pants ;)
