I think that could be possibility. Honestly, not sure how high he will go but i really can't see him falling past the Roos pick 9. He has dominated the TAC finals series, 3 high quality games in 3 of the most important games of the year for the TAC Cup. Being bottom-aged and being a very all-round player, he is a fantastic prospect.

Why the hell would General being critical of Steele have anything to do with Carlton? He hasn't been drafted yet, and could easily be picked up by Carlton at pick 6 so I fail to see how anything General said is biased by who he supports in any kind of way. Maybe he just doesn't base his opinions of a player solely on one game did you ever think of that?

I think that his comments were un needed saying Hartlett would of done better, this is just a stupid comment Hartlett could of been tagged out of the game who knows Steele has played a ripper of a game and deserves to be held in higher regard for it, look at the players that have en hanced there reputation in the TAC Grandy. It just seemed to me that he was saying Bryce did that lets not forget about him..if thats not what he meant I apologise, but if you cant see that was one of the most outstanding games played by a junior you are dilusional.

I watched the game, but as a freo perspective i still rate Hartlett higher than Sidebottom. Seriously everyone on the docker board was all over hartlett yesterday and now everyone wants SIdebottom. I think Hartlett will be the best player from the draft in several years.

They'll still get some quality, but there would appear to be a visible dropoff after pick 8.

sidebottom looks the goods. If you ask me its Rich>Sidebottom>Hartlett>Ziebell>Blease.
Ziebell seems like a tough big bodied, versatile mid whereas hartlett is the classy smaller mid, and sidebottom is a hybrid between the two. Tough and versatile, but has good skills and has class.

Apparently Ziebell has been injured the last few weeks so I wouldn't mark him down too much.

Would have been good to see him in the back half setting up more but with the injust I guess they just felt plonking him up forward was good.

It was about the injured Hartlett playing in a higher grade like Gibbs as a junior (he was bottom age like Sidebottom, but played a similar game against men ) and not the TAC cup. I apologise for interrupting the Steele Sidebottom circle jerk when he's rocketed up to pick one or pick three in the eyes of some after one great game. Out of sight, out of mind when Hartlett isn't even playing football at the moment...


I've read other comments from others who watched the game that they didn't play against decent opposition like they do in the champs.

I would be rapt if we pick Sidebottom after what I've read about him.

He wont go past us, if he lasts that long. Not sure how many teams below us are desperately looking for midfielders ahead of any other position but we definitely are.

Yarran iand Vickery are also very highly regarded in many circles.
And Blease sounds pretty decent too.
