Absolutely disgusting decision. Steven Baker given 7 weeks for "stopping."

Since when was it against the rules to stop running? Farmer runs into Baker's back and breaks his nose. If Farmer was actually paying attention to where he was running then Bakes would be playing on Friday.

Farmer's injuries are a result of his own stupidity, not a Baker "cheap shot."

But I suppose this is the guy who was given two weeks for an "attempted jumper punch", while Kerr gets one week for punching a guy in the nuts.

Also amazing when Baker was suspended for kicking while Allessio was standing on his ankle. What would anyone else do with 100kg of weight directed into sharp studs on top of their ankle do?

More like Baker turned on his side and stepped back into Farmer running. Can't see how you can brake someones nose standing still with your back.

Re: Baker found guilty, what a disgrace

Absolute disgrace. No evidence = No case

How did Kerr get off when he elbowed that guy in the head??

Duuuu. Kerr chasing and a player dives / shepards him and gets an upper arm to the head, not much in that really. Player got up, played on!

Kerr took an early plea and was out for one week.

King from Richmond hit Armstrong with a fist to the jaw trying to spoil and didn't even get a reprimand. Armstrong couldn't even walk, staggers off with two trainers helping him. King is a fair player but was sloppy.

People who keep posting that the Eagles get it easy open both eyes.

Good to see the AFL are consistent with their investigations......

Did they find out who broke Sandilands jaw behind play earlier this year?

I didnt hear anything about a witchhunt for the one responsible for that......

This Farmer-Baker case is purely trial by media & the fact that its Steven Baker!!! Absolute BS

Obviously the person who broke Sandilands jaw must havent been Baker, Gehrig, Brodie Holland, Jonathan Brown or any of the 'scapegoats' the AFL Tribunal treats harshly!!!

I bet if it was a Farmer-Judd incident, Farmer would be charged with headbutting the back of Judds head... Its BS....

Baker is a liar:

something also which was srange..baker said he had a lump on his forehead from where Famer hit him in the so called collision
this is impossible

Farmer is only 175cm....Baker is 179cm....Farmer nose wouldnt reach Bakers forehaead unless he jumped into him..Farmer wasnt jumping up.....hmmm!!!!

baker is a liar

Hows it karma, he reported 10 times and suspended 10 times

Ok turbo nice and slowly just for you, ready, This time he copped 7 weeks.

His past has finally caught up with him, in the form of 3 extra weeks.

Now get that cup of milo in ya, then it's off to bed :thumbsu:

Fairly sure its was last year in the first derby sandi got broken (being that last year was officially the year of the broken bone in AFL.)

Matthew Whelan gave Luke Ball concussion and 17 stitches in his head by standing in front of Ball in R1.

Whelan got a big whack to the back of the head as well.

Remind me how many Whelan got for that?

Follow football much?

Baker's previous poor record at the tribunal increased the severity of his penalty, without which he would have received a four-match ban.

Direct from the report on the AFL site.

Keep clutching that hat though, they're all out to get you.

You do understand the difference between judging and sentencing . . . don't you?

Of course priors are taken into sentencing - that's the whole point of carry over points.

Got any more bleeding obvious statements for me?

Oh well.... just a comparison, does it matter wat year it was?

no, i just couldnt be bothered typing that seaby didnt have anything to answer for because sandi stumbled and fell into his shoulder or head or something whilst running (according to a freo trainer)

no investigation necessary

Where was Seaby's duty of care?

If it was Cam Mooney in that ruck contest, might be a diff story....

well i spose the MRP didnt believe it was worth suspension. The thing is it happens every game thought its normally doesnt happen to be so hard but the ball was there to be won. he missed the ball by inches.

Yeah but didnt Joel Bowden get rubbed out for a similar thing last year.. inconsistency

In what way????

So if am driving in front of you and I brake thereby stopping your progress for whatever reason and you smash into the back of me just like Farmer did to Baker - it is my fault :confused::confused:

Baker had every right whatsoever to put on the brakes - the fact that Farmer did not realise he had slowed down or stopped is not Baker's fault

OK Bozo I'll say it again.

Road rules are DIFFERENT to AFL rules. Comprehendo !!????

Do you understand this??? There are no cars, white lines, give way signs, trafic lights etc on the footy field.

In the AFL you are in trouble if you make forceful contact if it is not reasonable for the player to expect contact. ie Was the ball within 5 meteres???

NO THE BALL WAS 50m away.

It is my understanding from the media report is that Baker admitted to stopping to BLOCK Farmer....50m away from the ball.

Baker didn't stop to ties a shoe lace, stop to catch his breath, stop to ask Farmer where he was going on holiday post season, he stopped to make contact. Everyone knows Farmer is a little worm and Baker is a STOPPER, they were niggling all night and Baker did what he's paid to do, he STOPPED Farmer.

Had we been playing the scum dockers, then Ball would have been suspended for 6 weeks....And that would have been fair enough too....can't have the dockers in convenienced in any way.

Wait for the appeal (which will be successful) to have the points taken off us for last week's game and awarded to the dockers.....stand by....
