Stevens - Forward or Back?

Assuming at the start of next year we a full list to chose from where would Mark Stevens be best for us?

The last couple of years he has probably been our best CHF and our best CHB. McGregor has shown to be quite competent in his defensive role but at this stage has not reached the levels that Mark Stevens did as a defender. With Carey up forward and assuming that Burton will play FF with Welsh along side I think we would be better off moving Stevens back to defense.

Any thoughts?

Personally I think the coaching staff would go with Kenny down back and have Carey in the foward pocket/ff and leave Stevens at CHF.

I think Stevens does a much better job at CHF, and Carey will be of most value at FF.

I agree with macca23. McGregor did well enough at CHB, and is slowly improving. Stevens can do the job at CHF or CHB. At CHF he is perhaps the best option the team has for that place. At CHB he is arguably slightly better, but the team does have an alternative.

So all things considered I think macca23s lineup is the best.

Agree with macca on this one, it might sound a bit crook but i think we need to have Mark Stevens at chf to take all the crash & bang as Wayne Careys body might not be as it once was,

Just for something different, I agree with Macca too. To prolong Carey's career he should be one-out in the goal square & concentrate on kicking goals. As Noddy mentioned Stevo would better off doing all the "hack" work around CHF. We look far better with both these guys in the forward line, with Welshy & Burton floating wherever they please (& also Burns & the resting midfielders crumbing) McGregor should be allowed to develop @ CHB, but if he gets into strife, we do have the option of sending either Stevo or Carey back if need be.

Yep, Stevens at CHF.....with Carey at FF he'll get the second best defender and should improve his output even further.....and we always have the option of moving him down back if the situation or matchups dictate it.

Hey! My little sweet boy better not get hurt with all this "crash & bang" going on! I agree though, my beautiful boy will be at CHB and the mighty King at FF. Young Kenneth can hold down CHB.
