I hope you guys don't mind me correcting this oversight but I could not see much other than the kneecap thread and I also thought some might have missed this Herald Sun story

I cannot think of any/many other forwards who would have got up and played like SJ on Saturday. I used to think of him as 'just' another mercurial forward (amazing that they are not that rare nowadays) but some time back I realized how big an engine he has and how tough he is.

I was obviously watching one of your games and was blown away at how he kept throwing his body everywhere - you know the way we are used to backmen throwing themselves at the goal line to prevent a bouncing goal with no thought for the welfare of their undercarriage  Well in the particular game when SJ made me a fan he was doing that all the time to put himself into contests where he was not the frontrunner.

If SJ was not playing and Pods still goes down, morale could have been dangerously low, instead he is there to help organize things :thumbsu:

Anyway here is another chance to share some of that endless love you guys must be feeling right now :)

When the going gets tough Stevie J gets going:thumbsu:. I only hope that it does not do him any long-term harm. If we are to have a good chance of another flag he needs to be cherry ripe.

Come on Catters, don't get funny about an outsider starting the thread - I have previously professed my love for that schoolgirl of yours.
For Christsake you have fifty something CHEERS on here for Collingwood  - how about some love for Stevie J

Thanks for the link Five, I hadn't seen the article, so I appreciate it :thumbsu:

I hadn't realised how hampered Johnson was by the injury, and so close to not playing. I loved how Chris Scott also said that he trusted Johnson 100% to tell him if he wasn't right, so once Johnson said it was fine, then it was all good to go.

It also shows that Johnson learnt the lesson from 2009, that if you're carrying an injury that hampers you, it really detracts from your performance and isn't fair on the whole team. Luckily the Collingwood players hadn't learnt that lesson!

To go out there and play the way he did is a real credit to him. I wasnt so sure he should play after he went into the 2009 grand final underdone and was quite poor but he was brilliant on saturday.

The greatest trick Steve Johnson ever pulled was convincing the world he wasn’t injured and wouldn’t kick.

As much as I hate SJ it was great to see him preform to such a high standard against Collingwood, played far better then just about anyone would have expected. Great effort by him to get up and play like he did. :thumbsu:
