The older pilot seemed to live for flying. He had a pretty awesome simulator set up at home. There have been reports of the plane changing altitude significantly ... as far as we know there's still been nothing found or demands made.

I think the pilot lost his mind, went for a joyride and then crashed somewhere isolated like the middle of the Indian Ocean.

They have 17 billion semiconductors and industrial controllers in the market. If there was an inbuilt backdoor or vulnerability, it would supply a danger of such massive consequence, given the damage that could be done to any company or state that uses their hardware. I mean Raetheon use their chips FFS.

This rules out mechanical failures. Either the plane at the bottom of the ocean or sitting in a hanger in a desert sonewhere

None of that is "evidence" of anything. And as well as those points there were plenty of other reports/"evidence" that don't fit.


Someone who can say "this is what happened, and this is how we know", not people saying "I saw a post on a forum from a former pilot who says he thinks..."

It is looking like a hijack might be the case - although it's been a week of "official reports" closely followed by press conferences denying those reports. All I'm saying is that if it does turn out to be a hijack, the people who were saying that five days ago weren't saying it on the basis of any special knowledge or insight, they were just guessing like the rest of us.

It seems incredibly unlikely, but the conspiracy idea I made up jokingly at the start of the thread, was Snowden leaks contain info about a vulnerability in Freescales hardware, China or someone has details and attempts to negotiate with one of the workers for information. On the flight over something happens, maybe a deliberate hijacking, maybe sabotage to prevent said people reaching China.

99% sure this won't be the case, but still?
