maybe the capture crea
But just read a pilot guy in one of the papers who expressed the opinion that he believed it was pilot suicide because he wanted to ditch it in a place where it might never be found. The much deeper waters of the Indian ocean etc. I guess to hide his shame.
Maybe it's life insurance.

The person/people responsible for disabling communication and re-routing the plane must know enough to simply not just run out of fuel in the middle of nowhere.

If they were going to commit suicide why not fly it into downtown KL & the Petronas towers?

You don't perform terrorist acts and then try and hide it.

This plane is on the ground somewhere.

Also, a lot of the central Asian countries are aligned with larger powers, so the US who has bases in the region, likewise Russia who historically had a presence.
it'd be extremely difficult to fly to somewhere like central Asia without communications, and at night even more difficult, you need to follow an exact air route which is already heavily trafficked with carriers bound for Europe.

How would it go undetected if it were to head towards the Turkey/Kazakhstan direction? Doesn't make sense.

Scary thing is that direction also includes Iraq, Afghanistan & Pakistan...

If it has landed safely and the plane has shut down, I don't think there's any way it can be detected??

"As of today 14 countries 43 ships and aircraft are involved in the search.

"I want to thank all the governments for their help.

"We have shared information in real time with authorities who have the necessary experience to interpret the data. We have been working non-stop to assist the investigation and we have put our national security second in the search or the plane."

You suggested Kazakhstan which is in central Asia. I doubt strongly this is what happened.

"We followed every credible lead. Sometimes these leads have led nowhere.

"There has been intense speculation. We understand the desperate need for information.

"But we have a responsibility to the investigation and the families to only release information that has been cooborated."

"The radar data showed the aircraft went on a course north of the straits of Malacca.

"We expanded the area of search to the Straits of Malacca and later the Andaman Sea.

"Early this morning I was briefed by the investigation team.

"On new information that shed further light on what happened to the plane.

"Based on new satellite communication we can say with a high degree of certainty that the aircraft communication adddressing system was disabled just before the aircraft reached the east coast of Malaysia.

"Shortly afterwards between the border of Malaysian and Vietnamese air traffic control the aircrafts transponder was switched off.

"Radar data showed that from this point onwards a plane believed to be MH370 did turn back and turned back in a westerly direction before turning north west.

"These movements are consistent with deliberate action by someone on the plane."

"We can confirm that this was the missing plane.

"According to the new data the last confirmed communication between the plane and the satellite was at 8.11am Malaysian time on Saturday March 8.

"We are unable to confirm the precise location of the plane when it last made contact with the satellite.

"We have determined that the plane's last communication with the satellite was in one of two areas."

only because of the Chinese passenger from the Xinjiang region...look, it's doable, but you'd need to follow a specific airway in order to avoid the Himalaya's, or be light enough so as to climb above them...that would be the case for MH370.

This is bigger than anyone could've imagined at the start. The plane flew from 12.40am till at least 8.10am with no detection. If this version is true (and I am skeptical in accepting "official" there would've been considerable planning and specialised people involved. And stakes involved would be massive.
Better mystery plot than any movie I have ever seen.

Those 20 workers for that tech company. :p

Maybe that's what it was about TBH. Far out suggestion, but could it have been extortion? Maybe for IP, details on some security flaw, or just cash?

They have 17 billion semiconductors and industrial controllers in the market. If there was an inbuilt backdoor or vulnerability, it would supply a danger of such massive consequence, given the damage that could be done to any company or state that uses their hardware. I mean Raetheon use their chips FFS.
