Majority of injuries have been impact related, the program has worked in previous years so I wouldnt be piling on as quickly as most. We havent had that extended preseason for years , so that will be a factor. However we do need to ensure whatever happens someone of quality is in place and a program is ready to go at the end of season.

I don’t buy that for a second. There are other teams (Geelong) constantly in finals contention with limited pre seasons and I haven’t seen them affected.

His program is simply not good enough. We haven’t been the same since Ian left years ago.

I hate ****ing Burgess too, the traitor. When he was at Port, after that first year our players were wrecked, and still looked like sticks.
Still, I guess Ken wanted sticks for his crazy Hinkley Ball.

Whatever experiments we let him do have paid off for other clubs. Everyone’s second fav club we aim to be

For the longest time he was convinced AFL players didn’t train enough, comparing them unfavourably with his experiences with the Socceroos and Liverpool (‘they play three games a week while travelling all over Europe and the World — and they still run further in a given week of training than AFL players do!’).

So he cooked the bejesus out of them in 2015 to the point where the midfield looked like it was running neck-deep in molasses when it wasn’t gassing out of games throughout winter.

Freshened right up and looked unbeatable just as a finals berth was mathematically out of reach, but!

Surely the last straw is a bloke missing a week with calf issues who then plays and rips his calf..

Should be sent on his way this week
Definitely deserves the arse, but you can be sure Hinkley has final say on players and we've played plenty across this season (and past ones) to the point of re-injury, just to get him as many Home & away wins as possible. Of course like everything this year, they couldn't even manage a decent H&A performance despite playing a bunch of injured / unfit players who should never have taken the field.

If Josh wants to show the players he'll treat them right, without being their daddy, telling them he'll push them hard and won't accept 'someone has to lose', but he also won't put them out there injured to save his own arse like Hinks did to them.
