9B) Veto Of An Executive Decision
If a significant portion of the Committee believe that the Administrator has made a decision that will have a dramatic negative and long-term effect on the league, any Committee member can propose a veto. If the proposal is seconded by another Committee rep then a vote involving the entire Committee is to take place. A majority vote will allow the Committee to block or reverse an Administrator's decision.

"a dramatic negative and long term effect"

I hope the Committee understands the difference between disagreeing about expansion and a decision that would supposedly have dramatic negative and long-term effect on the league.

In my leadership group, I voted no for expansion. I was the dissenting voice.

Everyone has the right to veto.

But I look at 9B, and whilst I don't agree with expansion, I can't see a DRAMATIC negative LONG TERM effect.

Dude, we successfully vetoed a player going from the Gumbies to the Bombers after he was delisted. Definition is out the window.

Despite that, if existing clubs think that the expansion bids are detrimental to the league moving forward, or the clubs themselves, then there's no doubt whatsoever that adding two new clubs can have a negative long term effect on the Sweet FA. Drama? Well, what isn't in this place?

You can't see the long term dramatic effect of having a team called the Vampires in the league?

I'll be honest, it was all Millky95 idea :p
And I own it. 100% my idea and I'd do it again.

We host the game in round 10 we don't have the signed players that didn't want their names out there yet and when we didn't have 20 players to field a side each, we would be battered from pillar to post (what else is new, tbh) about not having complete lists. No matter what we did or do not everyone was going to like it. Some people hear the word expansion and their asses tighten up so much that the force could shatter steel.

The bids are made. Approved by the admin. Vetoed by the committee. Now pending a vote. Once the vote happens, we shall either be here for the long haul or back to the drawing board.

Simple as that.

I'm not sure that's Hate's point and even if it was I'm making a different one.

Nobody is ever voting in favour of a bid full of invisible posters. Its all about building publicity, after the initial announcement of the bids, there was a flurry of activity, then they went dormant for months during which was the most important time to be making a case.

And if people are coming in with anti-expansion talk, GOOD. It's an opportunity to demonstrate that you've got a core of posters that can take same heat and push back.

I dont think there is any approach that the BC would have found acceptable. You guys are against expansion and will be anti any move they make.

KP isn't BC you ****ing moron.

There's a difference between being against expansion in general and voting no in these specific circumstances.

EDIT: For the record, I was somewhat in favour overall but had some hesitations and wasn't sold either way.

I wasn't trying to "get" anyone. And I voted no.

Just giving you what you want mate ;)

End of the day though you're just guessing how the Demons will be. Maybe some will get jaded from losing a premiership and post less. Maybe some will get weary from two cobbled together clubs with no rapport. Maybe there's an exodus already on the cards. Maybe some will just be over it.

This season I hoped to **** I got something out of a couple of new players, in the end not only did they do brilliantly but I also had the pleasure of Marlowe being a gun poster and most of the team turning up. It was unexpected, pleasantly. Nothing is certain in this place. Nobody would have expected the Rats and the Roys to go from top echelon to bottom levels in the posting stats.

Not only that, we're about to step into a second season in covid times. Who knows what we're facing?

There are people heavily involved in expansion clubs in the BC.

Acceptance from the BC doesnt determine whether the bid gets through, the majority of the committee isn't associated with that group and building up relevance is the only way to convince people to get around to the idea.

Also, "You guys", have a bex and lie down mate.

It's like you've known me my whole life.

The BC are also pro expansion. We even had our own bid.

Because of expansion, a team that has been part of the competition for the last 10 seasons plus has to fold as they don't have the numbers.
That's dramatic.
It's negative (For most teams anyway)
And folding is pretty long term. Took the Swamprats nearly 10 seasons to come back.
Hang on, you're saying if expansion happens, a club WILL fold. HAS to fold. Am I reading that right?

I agree with this, hence the post. When someone showed me this rule, it looked like it needed a rewrite.

Rule as it stands, I don't think it meets the definition.

No worse than having a team called the Wonders.....boy, haven't I moved on quickly.

I'd be ok with swapping the wonders with the Vampires.

Apologies for not know every member of a semi clandestine group, KP was part of the group think that you guys have going and I made an incorrect assumption.
