Wasting a rookie spot? If Tom Lynch was doing this I'd be worried about list management. A player picked up on the SPP draft and on the rookie list costing minimum payments. Stack has actually played good AFL football for us, so he's less of a bust than someone who never played. Turner et al. Means absolutely nothing if the application and intent is not there good footy or not that's the past irrelevant now give me a kid who's got half the talent but busts his chops.

thanks for clarifying. I think Stack'll struggle to get a game this year anyhow. But I wouldn't mind if that struggle was at Punt Road.

If fit and playing like his first year he is a walk up. Seriously good footballer who could be the greatest or the greatest waste of talent we have had.

Stack could well have been allowed to return early due to WA quarantine requirements.

As he has been training with players/coaches who may have come back from SA, he is required to quarantine for 14 days. So the club may well have allowed him to return last week to ensure that he'd be able to see family and friends for Christmas Day, as it was reported that to finish the 14 days quarantine, people must have begun their quarantine period prior to Friday 11th December.

Even though Victoria is rated a very low state, anyone who came from SA to return to training is classified as being from a low risk state and would impact him being able to return home without having to quarantine.

So Stack goes home days after arriving in melbourne and putting in a below par training session in the view that he has to quarantine for 14 days due to coming here from SA and being classified as coming from low risk state

Alternatively

He could have remained in melbourne another 10-12 days and trained with the team like he should have and then went back home on the 23rd december and not have to quarantine at all coming from victoria after 14 days here would be classified as a Very low risk state

That does work

He still has to quarantine as he would have been in contact with people from SA within the 14 days of travelling as per the WA government quarantine procedures

Travellers from a very low risk state or territory who have knowingly had contact with a person from a medium or low risk state or territory in the 14 days before travelling will be subject to the same quarantine conditions as that person from the higher risk classification and must self-quarantine for 14 days when returning to WA.

Amazes me that so many people seem to be hoping/believing that something sinister has happened and he has been given the chop.

The thing is that had he stayed in melbourne until 23 rd December he would already have been out of SA for 14+ days and would not need to quarantine
Nobody here wants him to fail mate but he is not helping himself with things he is doing.

Re: Something sinister not sure that has happened but we other younger players who have been in the hub that are back training and is it too much to ask of a player who has compromised the club and himself doing the same thing ?

He has been away from the club 2-3 months , The last thing he should be thinking about is new years tickets on instagram

Maybe because Stack was sent home early from the hub, technically his pre season started earlier and he is getting an earlier break as man management and he is hubbing?

I don’t know about Stack but my understanding of the WA law isn’t 14 days in Victoria, it’s 14 days not in contact with someone who has been in SA the previous 14 days. So really it’s a 28 day frame.

I.e. his 14 days doesn’t start until he stops having contact with CCJ, even if CCJ hasn’t been in SA for 12 days.

Sounds like the doggies have done something similar with Naughton.
