I think the Hawks made their intentions clear in that draft and nothing I have seen has made me change my mind. Not saying Tambling is a bad player

i picked lewis, obviously i am biased but he just gets more of the ball and is usually a high possession player who runs hard and kicks goals and reliably disposes of the ball.

9.5 errors a game does not equal reliability

Source?

Sounds like there are errors in your stats. Either way, Tambling would love to get enough of the footy to be able to waste it that many times.

As for this poll result.......a lot of Hawthorn hate going on and love it.:D No one but the most one eyed Tiger would vote for Tambling other than to rile hawk fans. It is very amusing, keep it up.:p

pros stats

Funny tassie fans are using insults as arguments yet tanmbling heads the poll.

Tambling by a very long way going forward

Lewis is way too error prone to ever become elite

Tambling has all the tools and is slowly realising his massive potential.

Lewis has allready played his best football, he is a s good as he is ever going to get.

Lewis has allready played his best football, he is a s good as he is ever going to get.

Love it.

So despite the fact that Deledio played his best football in Year 1, he still has the potential to play that way again, plus the fact that he has 'a massive amount of improvement in him'.

Despite the fact that Tambling has played consistently poor over the past three years - he too has a massive amount of improvement in him.

Lewis has played consistently well over the past three years - but no, wait for it, his development has stopped dead in the water. :D

Tambling is averaging 16.7 possies this year, 3.4 tackles, 71.6 rating points and nearly a goal a game.

Lewis is averaging 26 possies (9.5 errors), 1.7 tackles, 84 rating points and has only kicked 1 goal for the entire year.

Take out the ritualistic errors in his game and Lewis averages 17 possies per game to Tambling's 16.7, two less tackles, 1 goal a week less, and far, far, far less class and poise.

Tambling is still behind Lewis.

But not that far.

And his class and potential will see him rise far beyond anything Lewis has ever been capable of :)

Look at the poll, Lewis is being beaten by Richard Tambling - Bigfooty is finally coming to it's senses.

I picked Lewis he's shown alot more so far lets be honest. I hope Tambo proves me wrong and I think he will. But yea Lewis. Stupid thread anyway!

Some brilliant, selective stats there.

So, say we adopt this absurd system, we are meant to exclude the 'errors' in Lewis' game, but include them as disposals in Tamblings' game (3.4)?

Add to that the fact that you've completely made up a few facts.

Tambling kicks a goal more than Lewis a week?

Please, he averages 0.7 goals a week (7 goals) from 10 games compared to Lewis kicking 1 from 6 (0.2 a game).

Big whoop.

Clearly the vital goals that Tambling is kicking is what is getting his team over the line.

Did I mention the fact that Lewis has actually won his team matches?

34 disposals vs Port, including 6 clearances.

How's that for class? Or are we going to console ourselves on the knowledge that Tambling once kicked 4 in a quarter vs West Coast (in a game the Tigers lost)?

Tambling is still behind Lewis.

But not that far.

Oh right.

Time for the stats you missed.

Lewis averages more than double first possession stats and clearance stats (5.8 compared to a 2.6 for Tambling) - and did I mention the fact that Lewis averages 3.7 clearances a game to Tamblings' 1.8?

Where's the defence to that?

Let me guess - he spends more time in the forward line than Lewis?

If that's the case, how can you possible justify bringing up the number of goals kicked per game between the two when one is a pure midfielder and the other is a forward-cum-midfielder (whatever makes him look better in the eyes of his fans).

And his class and potential will see him rise far beyond anything Lewis has ever been capable of :)

You know, i've been hearing that for 4 years now - yet nothing has happened.

Fact of the matter is, even Rhys Palmer (a first year player), is averaging more disposals, clearances and first possessions than Tambling.

Oh wait, that's right he averages more errors than Tambling

Looks like Tambling won that comparison.

Did I mention the fact that Tambling clearly has more scope for improvement than Palmer?

Look at the poll, Lewis is being beaten by Richard Tambling - Bigfooty is finally coming to it's senses.

Or, considering the fact that it's anonymous, you could say that the Richmond fans on this site are swarming to this poll en-masse.

Crap that Lids best year was in year 1 absolute crap it was good for a rookie but he is a much better player now.
