LMAO:D This thread is an absolute riot! It is very early to judge either player too harshly but if you had to draft them now, Buddy would be taken by all 16 clubs before Tambling! Anyone who wants to dispute that didn't see Hawthorn play the second half of last year or has no real footballing knowledge to speak of. END OF:p

Here is a hindsight top ten...

I'm not saying Richmond have made any mistakes, it's too early to tell, but on performances i've seen so far:

1. R. Griffen
2. B. Deledio
3. J. Lewis
4. L. Frankling
5. A Monfries
6. D. Polo
7. M. Bate
8. J. Sherman
9. B. Moran
10. M. Rosa

Frankling is a tall version of Stephen Milne...

Kicks a few opportunist goals, can't take a mark and people hate his guts

But you rate him 4th in that particular draft:rolleyes:

...and how in hell does Polo get above Justin Sherman???????

You have spent too long at the power plant. Deledio and Griffen can't be split. When Deledio went to the HBF last year he played as well as Griffen. Sherman is just behind them, not 8th. And Franklin is just behind him, though he could leap frog them all in 6 months time. Throw a blanket over the rest of them.

A dose of reality!!!:thumbsu:
IMHO:

1. R. Griffen/ B. Deledio
3. L. Franklin
4. J. Sherman
5. A Monfries
6. J. Lewis
7. M. Bate
8. Nathan Van Berlo
9. S. Rusling
10. J. Roughead

Without trolling id have to say I agree Tambling was a wasted top 4 pick ... I mean I was unhappy with how Tenace and Mackie have taken so long to come on when we took them as top 10 picks - yet they have shown about as much as Tambling and he was a Pick 4!

It hurts even more when u consider that u passed on Franklin ... who has clearly more of an upside as opposed to Tambling.

As for Meyer and Pattison, I'v gotta say - it makes me sleep alot easier knowing that our picks we gave for Ottens were spent on these two players.

All of a sudden - we win!

not bad agree with the top 6 more or less but without being biased polo is easily top 10 polo>rusling/Bate/Van Berlo. He is an absolute gun in the making and was dynamite from the moment he debuted last season.

I must admit i never rated roughead much, i thought he had too much mass and would end up a slow dinosaur like whitnall/ben holland, but hes surprising me and is not too bad at all. Is a lot more mobile than I thought hed be a few years into his AFL career. I rate him ahead of 7-8-9

Seriously this Tambling bashing is a joke. He had an injury interrupted 1st season, 2 or 3 hammys was it? theres no way you can be confident in your body after that. last season he didnt set the world on fire but he was hardly a gimp. Hes had a full pre season, i think he'll make a lot of the clowns on BF eat their words this season. Talent to burn

I would honestly say Sherman has had as much if not more impact then Deledio and Griffen. Definitely more consistent then Buddy. If he was Victorian you know there would be big wraps. He is a better midfielder then both Griffen and Deledio at this point in time, probably not as potent else where though.

I don't think so! Both Deledio and Griffen have played some absolute blinders but maybe Sherman is just a more consistent and low key type of player(like Monfries). He certainly does rack up the possessions though. Franklin really only started to come on the 2nd half of last season, has consistency issues but he would be #3 purely for his match winning ablility and difficulty to match up on! Look what he did to Ray Hall?
I rate Polo and Tambling just outside the top 10 for now but that could very easily change this season!

:) WHAT, based on his excellent form two weeks in an intra-club match and a couple of goals (including some gifts from free kicks) last week in the NAB Cup.
In two years at the Cattery, what else has this guy done!

C'mon, he is a major disappointment.

Jusry still out on Meyer and Pattison, but have youth on their side. Ottens has been a major flop and disappointment since donning the blue and white!

I wouldn't worry about it Goldie, these supporters who comment before they should really get red faces in the future..... Meyer and Pattison will be a great trade for Richmond!

Grow up mate he has one bad game in a glorified practice game and you want his head on a chopping block.Bling was just rusty he'll come good and he didn't have a bad year last year.

Mus agree with you there mate. I am angered at those individuals you make rash comments like this after one (practise) match into the season. This is the year for Bling to stand up. Maybe mid way through the season we can come out with rash statements such as these.

Sure, he has all of 2007 with hopefully an injury free year to show a bit....I have been very much against the neg. posts directed towards him. Having said that, after watching Sunday's game last night, I have lowered my expectations considerably and feel those now saying...'he will come good....give him time' are definately saying it with fingers crossed I believe.

Someone posted he showed heaps as a junior...well all I have seen is poor judgement, lack of intensity and Sunday's game of trying to get around onto the right for a shot at goal seems to show he has no left (he is not alone there though being one sided!!) but also the dropped mark on the wing just was messy. But I think everyone hopes this is all about being a youngster, intimidated by the big league, and a few years under the belt, he will get his dominating junior ways into the AFL level. And he is just a sloweer developeer than the others from that draft.

While I am on it though....there were nearly a whole team of players from Sunday's game that are showing worrying signs...I formally take back my 'It was only the 1st round of the NAB cup' comment in another thread...that was a very poor performance indeed...rather more worrying now I have watched the game!!

Who has he been a major disappointment to?
Perhaps someone needs to clarify this with the RFC coaches im sure its news to them.

Why do Richmond think that flashy players are going to win them a Premiership, instead of getting Pavlich we got Fiora, instead of getting Buddy Franklin we got Tambling. Solid tough midfielders and big tall forwards win Premierships, no team of flashy mid sized show pony's have ever or will ever win a premiership.

For a number 4 draft pick you have to be have better skills and more determination than Tambling shows, I know its only his 3rd year but he has not shown anything to suggest that he will even be half as good as Deledio.

Just because you are a star at under-18 does not translate in being able to cut it in the AFL. These small quick aboriginal players like Tambling, JON, Krakour do not play a full game of football and are unreliable when you need regularly need a hard midfielder or a small crumber to kick 3-4 goals a game.

For all our years of on field misery the only worthwhile high draft pick we ever got is Deledio.

you know what ?

at the moment Tambling is still at that stage where he is given a chance ...

better then Fiora thats for sure ...

but i do agree with you ...

with the flashy players ...

No.3 Fiora, No.4 Pavlich
No.4 Tambling, No.5 Franklin

i hope that isn't the same case as 1999 Draft ...

but Franklin is Hot and Cold ...

but when he is Hot ... 5, 6 Goals ... which is probably worth ...

at the moment Franklin is way ahead of Tambling !
