Recommitted Tarryn Thomas [OOC 2024] - Staying at North

stengle played a whole year at sanfl and proven his commitment to the game before geelong picked him up.

A couple of clubs (most notably Essendon) were very keen on picking up Stengle before he decided on Geelong.

His form in the SANFL was superb, and credit to him and Geelong getting the best out of Steggles, but it wasn't as if The Cats took an chance on him when no one else would (which is what some of the narrative seems to be about Stengle)

Wasn’t Carlton also into Stengle because of Eddie?

Eddie was an assistant coach at Geelong at the time, which was a major influence in him choosing to sign with The Cats

Worth more to north than whatever we get in a trade for him. Off-field stuff will be hung over heads if it came to it.

Don’t think it’ll come to a trade fwiw.

Why do Essendon keep picking up these types, and then hoping that they'll suddenly change?

Weidemann - Spud at Melbourne, spud at Essendon

Stringer - Problematic and not committed at Bulldogs, problematic and not committed at Essendon

T. Thomas - Controversy, troubled and a bit of a FIGJAM...at Essendon...???

Surely will be worth more to North than Essendon will be willing to pay. He is contracted former top 10 pick so can see NM standing firm on a first round pick.

Might be the failure that end Dodoro if he nominated & North hold firm & Essendon get nothing

Straight up would not trade if I was North. Guy is a star in the making

He's also one career discretion away from stacking shelves at Woolies.

Bloke is scum and for a club devoid of leaders it would be incredibly stupid.

Good thing Essendon isn't stupid. Oh wait.......
If there is any truth to this rumour then I agree. We could have hung him out to dry but stood by him.

Didn’t Scott just say they want to bring in strong leaders? TT as talented as he is isn’t a leader.

I mean, what do you want us to do? Convince the young stars of the comp to come to us? Shockingly, they don’t want to.

And lord knows we’re not gonna be able to draft our way back to relevance.

Geez this is a worry if both McKay and Thomas look to leave the club. After JHF the year before.

Big risk for the bombers though. I wouldn’t be risking their first rounder for him.
