at a guess walker, with 1 less game iircThink quick: Who's kicked more goals this year out of Walker and Cloke?
The mere fact you're asking the question means the answer is Walker. Wouldn't be by much though, surely.... 5 goals, if that. Walker would've only played 10ish games this year.Think quick: Who's kicked more goals this year out of Walker and Cloke?
at a guess walker, with 7 less games
really 7? walker has missed more and cloke missed less then i thoughtFixed. Dangerfield's ahead of Cloke too.
I'm just so frustrated with him atm - imagine how much more confident we'd all feel going into the Geelong game if our CHF could kick a goal!
Firstly it will never happen for all the reasons already stated.
Secondly, he is exactly the sort of player we need. A full forward that would allow Anthony to play CHF and Cloke HFF. KPP are precisely what we need this year and if we could snaffle Walker for a first rounder plus a good player i'd jump at it.
I can understand people getting excited when the idea of luring a player as gifted as Walker is presented, but he grew up a staunch crows supporter and refused several advances from a number of AFL clubs as a junior to join them, requesting to deal only with the crows. Also signed a contract extension to the end of 2011 a few weeks back. There is absolutely no truth to this rumour at all and frankly...that article is an embarrassment. The last line is particularly amusing.
"But Adelaide could be tempted to use Walker as trade bait to bolster their relatively inexperienced ruck stocks."
Yeah. We're going to use the most talented youngster we've had the club in over 10 years as trade bait for a bit of ruck depth. If that doesn't tell you the whole thing is a load of crap, I really don't know what to say.
but he's actually only 190cm and 87kg, so he's not really ever going to be a massive power forward or anything.
Plugger was 191cm and Dunstall was 188cm, a couple of centimetres really doesn't matter, it has more to do with the way you play and Walker is a genuine forward target.
Might be still growing anyway, a lot of people are at this stage of their life.
maybe rusling to adelaide and we get walker. Could be a win-win for both clubs.
I thought this rumour might have had some legs, but looking at the fact it is from Fox Sports means it is just that a rumour.
We couldn't get him anyway, it would take a top 10 pick to grab him, plus a substantial contract offer which would put us in salary cap trouble for a few years.
No chance of him coming to Collingwood.
Riewoldt is an elite runner and marker, and Fevola, Brown, Plugger and Dunstall are/were all around the 100kg mark (and the latter are two of the greatest goalkickers to play they game, and played in an era where defenders were usually smaller than them), so they're all a bit different to Walker.
Still, time will tell whether Walker becomes a great forward or not, and I was just merely pointing out his size as a matter of interest more than anything else. Going by the height and weight that he's listed at in the 2009 AFL Prospectus, he's pretty much the same size (just 1kg lighter) as Scott Pendlebury. Right now, as much as I like Walker as a talent (he's certainly good to watch for the Redlegs at SANFL level), I'd rather we put time into and develop the guys we have, as I feel we'd probably have to give up a lot to prise him away from the Crows.
Strange article.
I can't be bothered getting into it, but Fevola was about 80kg when drafted (I'm sure the others were similar), so I hardly see what relevance it has at all.
These blokes didn't come into the AFL as elite runnerd or 100kg body builders, they took time to get where they are now just as it will take Walker time before he fills out to their degree.
A few kgs and cms isn't gonna stop that.
Seriously though, you're right, his size now won't make a difference to much in the future. He's hardly a skeletal structure a la Tony Notte.
