Latest edit after making changes due to injured rookies. Have put Lynch in the forward line for the time being and will see how he goes in the preseason. Kicked 64 goals and ave. 92 SC points in a team that finished 4th last. Imagine what he could do if he got decent service from his midfield. Miller another serious consideration pending preseason form.
Needs more Hartlett.....:D

HH is no spud I agree we just need 10 to 15 games out of him consecutively without getting injured. That's what's holding us back a bit. It's a lil risk yes but he'll be next to the likes of shaw, adams , doc etc

yep, ok

Why is everyone worried about him you either trust your gut to back him in or you don't simple as that
That moment when you get owned so you ignore the post and change tact.

Is that you Asho81?

First attempt at a team, rookies will change. Gone midprice heavy in the midfield and forward, however all mid-priced players (excluding Jamie Elliot & Ryder) have been proven premos in previous years.
Feels a little risky will be watching pre-season very closely

It's pretty solid.
Just a few too many 'maybes' for mine.
Vlaustin needs to play better than last year to be worthwhile. It may happen, it may not.
McDonald may return to his form 2015, he may not.
Merrett may continue his form from last year, or he may be affected by the fewer midfield minutes.
Grundy would need to play better than last to be worthwhile. It may happen, it may not.
Heeney would need to take a step forward. He may, he may not.
Roughead still has some question marks. Even when healthy his scoring was sub premo in his most recent healthy season.
Knight, essentially a high priced rookie with no exposed SC relevant scoring history.

All these picks on their own are perfectly understandable. There are real reasons to select each one. I'm just not sure taking all of them is such a great idea. Perhaps minimise some of your risk by trading in one or two for more established, consistent performers???
Just my 2 cents :thumbsu:

Vlastuin moving to the midfield this year, will increase his average.. just depends by how much.

Tom McDonald - see photo below, his finish to 2016 that would suggest he can.

Brodie Grundy - see photo below. Young player improving as the season goes on suggests more room for improvement this year. No other rucks on the list outside of Mason Cox.

Isaac Heeney - In the Nick Vlastuin basket, move to the midfield, will improve his average just by how much is the million dollar question.

Version 4 - 140k left over
I'm holding onto Sandi until the very last minute if I can. I'm 99% not bringing in Ryder as he has burned me badly in the past, would happily burn TMitch for Swallow and upgrade Sandi to Gawn.
Hanners has finished in the top 4 overall totals two years running, he has to be looked at.

Dixon is the most overrated player in the comp. Dwayne Russell joins in with the Port supporters shooting their load whenever he gets his hands to the ball.. and drops it.

Port paid way overs. Plus he has glass ankles.

Agree he maybe overrated, injury prone etc. but I'll take the bait....How many Dogs players averaged more contested marks than Dixon last year? The premiership team didn't have 1 single player that took more per game than him. He's not that bad at taking a grab lol

i dont shoot my load whenever he touches the ball and drops it...

you took that out of context. we were having a discussion on who was the better player, Dixon or Vickery. id take Dixon over Vickery, because Dixon can win a game off his boot, Vickery will lose one. :)

Im really liking this team. I believe maybe an upgrade of Eddy to Bowes which leaves 70k still.

Hasn't Dixon ever won a game off his own boot?! He's 26 and still nothing but potential.

Him and Vickery both suck, difference is Hawks didn't pay out their arse for Vickery. Also Vickery may be a tool but he doesn't have a horrible off field history.
