team for north

North could easily put Moran, Hale, Brown and Mcintosh up forward.

Even though they are crap.

Brown is crap.... Moran, Hale and McIntosh are just young and are more ruckman than forwards. I'd expect one to be in the ruck and one on the bench, the other up forward.

Was gold rd 22 last year (or was it the game earlier in the year?) watching Nick Maxwell (about 189 cms 88 kgs?) tear the 200cm+ Hale a new one. :D

I am sure that had nothing to do with dominating in the middle of the ground. ;)

Why are both Harry and Wakes in the team?

Apparently Egan has been injured at training. He broke his thumb or something.
Aw, crap. It appears that our forwards, established or potential, are bloody-well cursed at the moment.

Why are both Harry and Wakes in the team?

Wakes should be in there...no reason why he shouldn't be. He came 3rd in the best and fairest two years ago, and had bad luck last year.

As for Harry, he is likely to be a starter you would think, despite the side a little back heavy.

i think we'll play all 3 ruckman with Josh forward, Bryan/Richards starting ruck and the other on the bench.

I'm hoping we take 3 runners on the bench to rotate through the middle, HF and HB. We need to make sure we run out the game.

FB:Lockyer, Presti, H O'Brien
HB: Maxwell, Clement, H Shaw
C: Pendlebury, Licuria, Johnson
HF: Fraser, Cloke, Thomas
FF: Davis, Rocca, Burns
Fol: Bryan, D Swan, O'Bree
I/C: Di(k, Lonie, Richards, Iles

I haven't considered: Holland due to suspension and Didak, Bucks, Egan, Medhurst & Rusling as I presume they are injured and won't play

I believe the pies will take a more experienced team into round 1. none of the new draft picks will play!

The Team I Named Will Be The One That Takes The G.
We're down Egan and Medhurst, so I don't think so.

Not easy to do, due to the necessity to guess which green players to introduce.

Back line is about the only one we don't have to panic about. Wakes has been good over the pre-season, but I think we should wheel him out when we are genuinely stretched in defence. Not that Hale & McIntosh ain't big, but Max & Clem can cover them with wiles.

With Rusling, Buckley, Medhurst, Egan, ****, Didak still not 100%, even tummy bite Brodie, we're fricken struggling to fill the forward line with smalls/mediums. In reality we'll probably play five forward, but we don't have much relief in terms of rotations.

As such, I am predicting the debut of Cox, who I also anticipate will struggle with the pressure, but he's going to struggle for a bit no matter when you play him. I think he'll blossom with confidence, as opposed to a Daisy like "Whoa!" start to his career.

I also anticipate a Richards/Bryan combo, which may be very ugly, but at least Rogan can play forward. Hale & Mac aren't exactly tap magnets either. It's a matter of Booerns, Lica & Cheesy reading the dead ball ala 2002-2003, to stop the supply to Simpson/Harvey/Wells etc., which is where they flogged us in the NOB Cup.

If fit, we may play O'Brien instead of a debutant (I'd tip Reid who can play forward & stretch the defence/give Rogan a rest, or a surprise in a Wellingham Boot promotion for forward capability and pace/flair/footskills), so as to release Heater to half forward. Heat played half forward as a junior, kicking reasonable tallies and even from half back we know that he can find the goals.

Didak is still a chance to play after a good training run today, but if you had to bet your nuts on it, you'd probably go with not.

Again, harder to pick than a broken nose given our injuries and the necessity to cover for them with youth.

I honestly reckon Collingwood's likely team for round 1 would be close to the hardest to guess at. Medhurst might still play, he just had his foot iced. I doubt Wellingham will get a game, but I'm a big wrap for him.

Wellingham, l have heard will be elevated to the senior list this week, will play against the Kangaroos.

I have heard he played a blinder for Williamstown against the Casey Scorpions. However, Malthouse doesn't like to experiment with the side. He is an old-fashioned coach.

If I wanted to place a bet, Can I trust you? How sure are you?

I do agree with you in many respects, but I don't think he's ever not played a debutant in Round 1.

Cox, Chopper & the Wellington Boot lead the race.
