The team needs to be selected on merit
That said Macca doesnt deserve his place on his performances not because he is old.

So, we have two underperforming players, one in his last year and one who has played two games, a team that is shizen and going nowhere...who to choose, who to choose...

Unless O'Brien is shooting up in the change rooms or has an attitude that sucks, why the ____ are we playing McManus?

Don't get it. Seriously I just don't get it.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again -

Someone, please, remind me why we drafted Josh Head.

Sheesh if you were him he'd be entitled to think wtf he has to do to get a friggen game.

I still dont think we are ignoring reputations and rewarding form with games.

I can't understand how McManus is still playing. If he hasn't been dropped by now I doubt he will ever get dropped. When he was on the couch, I heard Harvey mutter "he's a warrior" when Walls was questioning why McManus was in the team ... I fear Harvey has a high opinion of McManus.

I don't like the bench. Peake and Black have done nothing to deserve a recall, and Schammer is just plain useless. Yet if those 3 don't play it leaves Warnock-Campbell-Bradley-Foster(underdone?) and we are going in way too tall against a quick running side at Subi. So either way its a no win for me ... go in too tall, or go in with useless runners. I'd rather stick with more kids like Mayne-Hinkley-O'Brien.
Maybe so but Mayne is injured, the others have to learn that their spot in the side is not a given.black I am not sure is the answer as I think he is far to undisciplined, and he looked a wee bit over the weight scale seeing him on TV last night.
Every one keeps saying play the kid play the kids, for good ness sake Schammer and Peake are still kids.Lets throw them out now get rid of them.
get rid of Warnock,Murphy,Mundy(though I am not a fan) but for crying out aloud they are still kids.Lets trade them and get another seven 17yr old.

Ppl are saying Macca should go coz he's old not coz hes playing crap. I'm not defending him, I am trying to differentiate between being cast off coz yer old and being cast off coz yer crap.

Brock - maybe he needs to learn that he pays for his mistakes.

Re read the post.

How do we benefit by playing McManus, who is playing crap, over O'Brien who is also average? Who has the potential to improve and who will be on the list next year?

Really why did we bother? He's 25. He's in good form in the WAFL. He should be right to just step right in.

So if the match committee are pushing him out the way while they scrape the bottom of the barrel, I just do not - for the life of me - understand why he is even on our list.

Surely an untried teenager playing his heart out in the WAFL but not getting picked would've been better than an untried 25 year old playing his heart out and not getting picked.

If he's not good enough at 25 - when will he ever be good enough?

If an 18 year old is not good enough at 18 - he might be good enough at 20 or 22...

Really - why???

I honestly believe with that team selected we will get smashed Gilmore didnt deserve to be dropped before mcmanas schammer and a few others If mark harvey is making a statement he is making the wrong one rewarding players that have played crap all year black and peake have done nothing in the wafl and bringing in campbell wornock and bradley together is a big mistake as none of them are quick.

I tend to agree !!

With all due respect to McManus...

SOMEONE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE HIM ____ING STOP....

Why are you focusing on MacManus and not the match commitee? MacManus is getting the thumbs up from them, and doing what is asked of him. If he "retired" then he is letting the club down, as the club extended his contract.

He can retire or the match committee can make him retire...take your pick...

C: David Mundy, Rhys Palmer, Garrick Ibbotson
HF: Shaun McManus, Chris Tarrant, Dean Solomon
F: Jeff Farmer, Matthew Pavlich, Marcus Drum

Out: Mark Johnson (suspended), Daniel Gilmore, Brock O’Brien, Ryan Murphy
i would drop bradley, peake and black from that squad

i wonder if they will play warnock or if they will use bradley as backup ruck

feel sorry for brock, he was played out of position

Maybe so but Mayne is injured, the others have to learn that their spot in the side is not a given.black I am not sure is the answer as I think he is far to undisciplined, and he looked a wee bit over the weight scale seeing him on TV last night.

Is Mayne still injured? I thought he played WAFL on the weekend? His efforts at AFL level deserve an automatic recall when fit in my opinion.

I don't consider Schammer and Peake kids. They've had enough time to show us what they can do ... which isn't much. I'd be prepared to give Peake another chance IF he deserved it from WAFL form. So time to see if somebody else can do any better.

And I don't think many people actually want to trade Warnock/Mundy.

Don't think Mayne is 100% yet.

Peake has had 3 weeks in the WAFL to regain some touch and was named in the best on the W/E with 23 touches.

I would rather Schammer or Peake over Macca on form and that they do actually draw a tag sometimes.

This season Macca has been averaging just 11 disposals 4 tackles compared to Schammer's 16 disposals 3 tackles and Peaker's 13 disposals 2 tackles.

Peaker does bring a huge aerobic engine as well which should give us more run at the end of games.

Bradley , Macca , Black out for mine.

Exactly what I thought. I know Brock had a shite game, but what would be the point of dropping him and keeping McManus in? Only one of them is going to be on our list next season, and given our ladder position I can't see the point of playing someone that has absolutely no role in our future.

Brock O'Brien got dropped for not only his performance against Melbourne where he was unbelievably unaccountable but also for his lacklustre performance for Peel Thunder last weekend. 7 touches running off half back/midfield is not a great game.

McManus is easily in front of Brock, some of you are taking this "play the youth" thing a little to far.

The point may well be that he needs to learn to deserve his place and accountability and not just get a game because hes young and needs experience. That said I hope he gets his place back asap we need to know if hes a keeper or not.

You also cant play a young'un because he is one and they play shite and drop Macca coz hes old and plays with heart and gives 101%. I understand what posters are saying and I agree to a point but primarily positions need to be earnt and not a given - which breeds the wrong culture.

Agree there freo shark....

Don't get it. Seriously I just don't get it.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again -

Someone, please, remind me why we drafted Josh Head.

If Bradley gets a gig on Sunday, Josh Head will be the only fit senior player not to get a gig this year

No he is not injured. Which means he should be straight in. Has one week in WAFL after missing only 3 or 4 games so fitness should be fine. He has shown great heart and skill and if he is not injured, he should be straight in :thumbsd:

Do the Bulldogs have 2 ruckmen playing? Either way I want to see Warnock playing to break even or give us some clearance advantage - we will need it with their pace!

So he cant play in the backhalf on another 4th - 5th Gamer so let him choose where he wants to play... He to me should be able to play back/forward mid... dont give me that he was played out of position crap....take your chances when they present , also go and read his west comment about how he played last week ... sorry but no sympathy ...but in saying that i think the kid has got what it takes to make the grade....

Oh yay, the bulldogs pace is going to kill us.

Totally agree didnt we get smashed by richmond because we went in too tall and slow hasnt harvey learnt anything Im starting to wonder if he is the right bloke for the job too many changes every week I would have dropped Johnson ( suspended ) murphy and macca and brought in hayden bradley and head

Ahhhh the Macca knockers keep kicking,
And for what it is worth Peake had a blinder last week from all accounts.Lets face it we will need pace against the Dogs.
If you listened to Harvey last night you would know that we are short on players available this week so go look elsewhere to kick someone.
Go home and kick the dog or the missus.

Not the dog:eek:
