Very interesting to see Watts dropped... but I don't feel all that bad about it. Wasn't flash last week and obviously Neeld is taking a hard stance as to the way he goes about it. I think that will be good for him and I like the team we are taking down to Skilled (Kardinia... Simonds... whatever the hell it is)

That Geelong team doesn't look as strong as it used to be, but it will take a performance straight out of our arseh*le to truly get anywhere near them. Looking forward to seeing how we back up from last week.

Stoked that Clark and Frawley are back. I don't mind Watts being dropped too much. He has definitely improved this year but still seems to just float through games and make little bits of impact here and there. Hopefully this is the kick in the guts he needs.

From a tactical point of view, Skilled is very narrow so his free role on the wing wouldn't work as well.

How is Sellar staying in the team, is he really making a bigger contribution than Watts?

IMO Sellar is only a back line depth player (Warnock V2). I'm not sure what they see in him.

Glad to see Neeld making the tough decisions - love Neeldy

Make them earn their spots - no free rides.

In saying that I didn't think Watts was super poor but hopefully the players start getting the message keep up a minimum standard otherwise you is out!!

Competitor

I agree he hasn't offered much - give Jamar a rest and does offer a good contest

Its got me stuffed how Sellar is starting at chf and Watts is dropped

He is playing because he is the back up ruckman to Jamar. Why you guys can't see that, regardless of how he is playing, is beyond me.

Puts in more effort to the contest than what Watts has been doing of late and he brings a bit of maturity and experience to the toughest ground in the country.

**** Sellar, I want Dunn gone!

Fair point about Sellar in the ruck but id rather back Jamar to go all day or get Clark to give him a chop out if need be. Either way not a huge drama pretty happy with the team.

Nah, love watching the porno mo act like a prick down in the forward line and then dob goals from outside 50! Keeps it entertaining! ;)

Indeed - the mo is so terrible that it has become an icon!!

On a serious note - i reckon he has being doing a good job as a forward line run with/tagger.

Needs to hurt the opposition more going our way though!!

Watts out after one bad game, Davey stays because Malthouse and Neeld are friends and because Sellar is the greatest player to have ever played for our club.

Davey played better then watts last week, no doubt.

Watts played better than Davey the first four rounds.

I thinkn you'll find it's more about team balance and intesity.

I can't disagree with your point about who's been better Davey or Watts, but I think (guessing) that the change has been made as Davey plays with more intesity and can play a role which we can't cover at the moment and we needed to balance our talls with Frawley and Clark back in.

Also makes a statement that you can have all the talent in the world but you need to contribute for 4 qtrs

Watts is not gone forever - Watts needs to develop his intesity over 4 qtrs and his body (he needs to grow if he want's to be a KPP)

As much as it pains me to say it, right now, he offers more than Watts.

no way, Watts needs a kick up the bum, but he brings a lot of skill onto the field.

all Sellar is good for is throwing his body at marking contests to create a spill. I'm sure the stats will prove me wrong, but buggered if I've seen him take a mark.

I like the Ins and Outs tbh. I would have liked to see one small added, whether that was Petterd or Blease.

I think Watts has been cruising. Needs to start having more of an impact on games. Go back to Casey and hopefully dominate a game and get some confidence. Sellar at least offers a contest in the air. Watts would get slaughtered by the Geelong defence. Would do nothing for his confidence. Sellar will at least bring the ball to ground, and also spend 10-20% of the game in the ruck. Until Martin comes back, he remains. Clark, Dunn and Sellar if nothing else will provide presence in our F50.

Great to see Frawley get up. He simply has to take Hawkins. No other defender in our side could handle him. This of course means JPod will probably kick a bag, but Tomahawk is the best forward in the game right now. Garland will possibly get Stevie J who also usually kills us. So we need a big game from Col. Look out for Mitch Brown too. The kid can seriously play. I'd expect Tom McDonald to play on him and he'll have his hands full if it gets down there enough.

Midfield will be interesting. This is where we have improved a lot in the last couple of weeks. And we'll have to again this week. To get close to the Cats, we will have to at least break even with them in the middle. It isn't impossible. Moloney, Jones, Sylvia, Magner and Bate have hard bodies and experience. It's possibly the strongest in body size midfield we have had in awhile. Yes we lack some class there, but we can win the contested ball where Geelong have killed us in the past. So McKenzie has to do a number on Selwood and Cale and Trenners have to give us that outside class we are desperate for right now.

Can't see us kicking anywhere enough goals, but one thing is for sure is we will provide a contest. The Cats class and exceptional backline will still mean a big loss, but hopefully we can hang in there and put up a 4 quarter effort. Cats by 10 goals...
