I completely disagree with you on this one, cmndstab.

The wet gives our bigger midfield bodies a significant advantage, and also nullifies Jamar (who has been excellent). It's a definite advantage for us, in my opinion.

Definitely prefer a dry playing arena. We need to play ourselves into form and we wont be doing that on flooded turf. Not to mention it increases the risk of more injuries.

Actually there are fewer injuries in wet conditions.

Don't mind us playing in the wet. Our skills were garbage last week in perfect conditions and couldn't possibly get any worse. Don't think the poor conditions will affect us at all.

Melbourne Sunday.....19..Windy with showers.....Wind from the West 34km/h

Looks likely to be a slog with those conditions!!!

We'll have to lift our contested ball and tackle count significantly!!

One thing you South Australians need to learn about Melbourne (the city) is never trust the weather people, they are the devil.

19 and rain in Melbourne usually equates to 30 and fine.
LOL. They are no better in Adelaide either. The other day they predicted a few showers which resulted in 50mm of rain being dumped on Adelaide Airport.

I watched us play in the wet against Melbourne earlier in the NAB Challenge series where we played like absolute arse, and the precise moment the rain stopped our ball movement improved and we came back from behind to win.

We rely on precise movement and the rain will hamper us. Definite negative for mine.

I was just at training and Goodwin completed the whole session. Thompson only ran laps and all three emergencies were out there.

And we'll be in our away tops tomorrow.

Thought we'd bust the away tops against a blue and red team.

Now we don't wear ghey red, which still clashes.

Thompson is still limited which is a shame.

Thompson has a groin problem, was quite restricted in the second half last week. Hope its only a strain!! Schmidt in if Thompson out?

Thompson will play and he loves playing against the Dee's

I heard Scotty in an interview some weeks back saying that he has a program in place for the year that included only having a light run the last training session before the game

Yep, Thommo and somebody else (Tippett maybe?) are not taking part in the final footy session of the week for the whole season. I really hope Scott can be managed effectively through the season. He's so important to us and definitely looked like his movement was being hindered against the Swans.

Yes, that's what NC said in early March:
"Craig also revealed Thompson and Kurt Tippett would be excused from the club's final session of the week for the duration of the season.
Both players have battled leg tendonitis in recent years and Craig said it was a precautionary measure not to let the pair train or play two days in a row.
"It's the advice we've had from the medical people. It's our last training session for the week, so from one day [to playing] the next is what we’ve got to be careful with those guys," he said.
"As long as they're fit and healthy and in good touch I'm comfortable with that. You've seen what we do in our last session. It's minimal."

Right you are. That was the article that I read it in, but couldn't remember for sure who the other player was.

FWIW Bone is suggesting that Thommo will be a late out today. Not good :thumbsd:
