The Demons have added four names to an extended 25 man squad for Sunday afternoon’s clash against Port Adelaide.

Lynden Dunn, Daniel Bell, Clint Bartram and Brad Miller all come into the team, with Colin Sylvia missing, having been suspended for three weeks for striking.

The final team of 22 will be named on Friday evening.

The last time the two sides met was in Round Three this year at AAMI Stadium, with Port Adelaide 22.15.147 defeating Melbourne 14.6.90.

Writing is clearly on the wall now for Newton. Despite being in good form for Casey for a few weeks, still can not get a game.

Also, intrestingly no Watts?

Does this order of names on the I/C mean that they're more likely to take the first four into the game? Which would mean Dunn & Bell in for Sylvia & Bennell?

I wouldn't read too much into that, as the team selection sheet is generally rather comical. For example, Nathan Jones is named in a forward pocket, and Sylvia is regularly named at FF.

I think Bell should be the man to come in for Sylvia, with Dunn a close second.

I think Newton should be getting a chance too, his form has been good over an extended period of time. I'm starting to think Dean has totally written him off at this point.

The only positive I can see with Bell playing is the hope he has a pretty decent game, deceives Port into thinking he could be a valuable addition, and they offer us a fourth round draft pick instead of us simply delisting him at the end of the year.

Could be quite a cunning plan from Bails and co. :o

Weve gone from having a surplus of BP and small backmen in Whelan, Bennell, Cheney, Strauss and others such as McNamarra and Bell to now possibly playing Morton down there for experience which i dont think is a good move.

I would be absolutely furious if Bell gets a game in front of Dunn.
Looks like it's time to get furious.

I don't quite get it. Dunn shows consistently good form in the VFL in every game he's played there this year, constantly in the bests, and Bell plays 2 good games and gets the nod.

On the occasions that Dunn has played (AFL) this year, he hasn't been awful, but dropped the next week to make room for someone returning.

On the contrary, Bell comes in, plays an absolute stinker with more turnovers than a ****ing patisserie, and is back in the side in 3 weeks.

Only 2 things i can come up with:

Bailey wants one more look at the prick before cutting him loose at the end of the year? (but if this is the case, doesn't Dunn who looks a more accomplished player deserve the same chance)

Or

Perhaps without Bell in the team we were a chance to win this week. :eek:Subtle Tanking???
